Think that might have to do with Dui stuff. Giants want no negative pub after what happened with their executive.

Parsons has had a heck of a spring.

Not getting my hopes up on Kimbrel but cutting Freeman and Duval would save near 4-5 mil.

I said it when the rumors started, if they get him cool, if not whatever.

Sources saying that the Astros are getting close to a 2 year 66 million deal with Verlander. Wtf?? 33 per for Verlander is insane.

The giants have released Cameron Maybin. Honestly he isn’t great but did okay in Atlanta the time he was here. And he has 43 steals over the last 2 years. I’d drop Duvall and sign Maybin

Maybin has reverse splits for his career and wouldn’t make a good platoon option with the current OF mix.

Brandon Guyer and his .800+ OPS vs LHP fits much better. He should already be signed to replace Duvall.

I’m not giving 2/66 to a 36 year old ever.

Paying more for the shorter term makes sense, as well.

I still don’t think it’s crazy for Kimbrel to sit out post draft. Sign with no pick issues. Sign with a contender. Show he’s back and try again.

I hope that is the plan. I don’t think the braves would be this outside the box but I’d love multiinnig rps.

Young guys don’t go deep into games. I’d love to see Kyle Wright two times through the order and then the braves planning on gohara fried etc going through the order once.

Braves need to scoop up Guyer before the Giants try to shoehorn him into a CF platoon to replace Maybin. He can be similar to what Matt Diaz was for the Braves.

Then if they can scrape together the cash to get Kimbrel on a 1-2 year deal they will have somewhat salvaged the off season.

Good luck with that pipe dream. None of that is going to happen. It’s quite clear that AA’s goal was to sign his boy Donaldson and close up shop this offseason. Then feed us rhetoric about how we can shop in any aisle and have tons of prospect capital to trade, but there wasn’t anything of value available. I’m not saying we should make a move to make a move, but something had to of been out there of value. Maybe not a big name like Harper or Machado, but a lesser known player that would have helped in the outfield. We’ll wait and wait and wait, say we’ll have money and prospects to move at the deadline, and by the time that time comes we’ll be deemed too far out of it to warrant a move. Just more excuses. Just come out and say “we’re done investing in this team this season. All left over money will be spent to pay down our commercial real estate debt.” Just be honest with us. We’re not stupid nor are we naive.

Duvall looks like a goner. I assume this also means that the Braves feel good about Camargo playing some corner OF when they sit Inciarte or Markakis against tough lefties.
