It's been 'simplified' according to DOB -- I don't see that much of a difference in the actual swing/follow-through, just the removal of his funky pre-swing mechanics.

Why does he keep looking at the camera?
Man, if BJ can just be league average this team is going to win 96 games again.
Natural Immunity Croc
In 2010 he had a WAR of 8.2. Can you believe that the guy we saw last year was the same man who put up that!
In 2012 he put up a WAR of 4.0. He did that with a terrible OBP of .298.
I think if he can get his K% down back to 26% (last year was 33%!!!) he will be a productive player.
Didn't notice the toe tap. The whole 'package' does seem smoother, though. Somebody said that he worked out with Jeter this offseason ... I see some minor similarities between the two (when they come set).

I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one that has a decent amount of faith in BJ rebounding this season.
I didn't see any difference.
Still lots of movement IMO, but it's better
If just a few things break our way, we have the talent to be a dominant team. That's why I was OK with the off-season even before these extensions.

We have a lot of really talented players in their prime. So I agree with yeezus. If things break our way then the sky is the limit for this team.
I think the biggest thing is that his head is staying on a nice even plane and there is less going on with his tootsies as his front foot lunges toward the plate.
thank you weso1!
I thought it would be a pic of him standing in the dugout.
Here's BJ in an Outkast video
I'm in that camp, too, though as camps go, it's probably not the most ardent.
I remember writing during ST last year about how important I thought it was for BJ to get out of the gate hitting well. I thought that the pressure created by a big money FA deal and competition with/comparison to Justin could be a bad combination for a guy who has a reputation as, well, a bit of a sensitive soul. I thought that he might get into a funk if he didn't start well (see Owl's 2011). Of course, I thought that he might struggle—I didn't imagine the torpid brick of a season that he ended up laying.
I do think that with a clean slate, streamlined mechanics, and some confidence, he may very well earn that paycheck this year.
