Starting pitching. Too much youth and inexpeirence added with Washington pushing or pulling us all year. We are playing for the wildcard.

I don't think Washington is as good as a lot on here think. Saying that if you go back two years ago to the year they won the division, I remember them catching every break in the world. Last year not so much. Nothing says they can't do that again but I think their true team is somewhere between the last two seasons.

A little of this and a little of that. Can bet on or against young pitching, but I think we'll be alright. I'm one who worries about the offense. We'll score runs, but we could be one of those feast-or-famine teams that goes on a stretch where it simply doesn't hit.

I think Washington is a lot better than they showed last year, and had a lot go wrong for them. Basically, they seemed to NEVER hit when Strasburg was on the mound. Their hitting seemed to let them down all season and really underperformed when it counted.

Yeah because that really stopped the Braves from going to the World Series in 1991. That really stopped the Phillies from going to the World Series in 1993. That really stopped the Angels from winning the World Series in 2002. That really stopped the Marlins from winning the World Series in 2003. That really stopped the Rays from going to the World Series in 2008. That really stopped the Rangers from going to the World Series in 2010. That really stopped the Giants from winning the World Series in 2010. That really stopped the Cardinals from going to the World Series in 2013.

Matt has a legitimate point though. And we won our division playing some rather streaky ball.

Some of you guys are so scared ****less of the Nationals that it's hilarious! The Braves had all sorts of injuries, underperformance and other issues and still won 96 games and won the division by 10 games over the Nationals while owning the head-to-head series. The Natioanls aren't 10 wins better than they were last year and the Braves are 10 losses worse than they were last year. The Braves win the divisional by no less than 5 games over the Nationals this year. I'll be laughing my ass off in this thread come September at the total lack of faith in the Braves and being scared ****less of the Nationals.

I'm not getting why we should just assume the Nationals are going to be a powerhouse. I think they will be a good team but I also see lots of potential improvement from our club off of a 96 win season. Alex Wood is going to impress a lot of people and I think Gavin Floyd was a solid signing.

I'm not scared ****less of the Nats. But you never know what can happen in a season. Nats could get a ton of bounces their way and our head to head could flip. Nats won a lot of games 2 years ago and still have largely the same team as then.

I think it's fair to say the Braves and the Nats are both great teams who're barring something crazy both gonna be in the playoffs. Braves were better last year, Nats were better in 2012. That's really about as simple as you can make it.

My comment had nothing to do with the Braves, so your response is irrelevant.
