Compare Albies' contract to the contract Ender got...

Albies and Acuna have terrible agents, but great for the Braves.

Sounds like Ozzie has a agreed to a deal that values him as a 1 WAR player.

$7M per FA year is...insanely good value.

Glad to see this get done.
It's closer to 1/3 than 1/2. Even at 1/2 it seems like that would have been a very team friendly deal.

You aren't adding in the $4M buyout that is already guaranteed.

No because the 7/35 includes one buyout at 4 million.

It is hard to understate what the Acuna and Albies deals mean for the window of contention.

While you have consistently overvalued the cost of these extensions, Albies certainly took even more of a discount than it appears he should have.

Yes i saw on twitter it starts in 2019, probably using some of our money we have now on Albies.

Are the terms official? I would think it would be 5/35 for his arb years and then 2 option years at what appears to be 7 million a piece. 5/35 would make sense on both ends, but obviously the 2 option years are hugely in favor of Atl. If it's 7/35, well then that's just highway robbery for Atl.

These deals can help the Braves sign a big time free agent, Encheff will laugh. But they are laughably team friendly.

Braves announced it on their twitter account.

Since everyone is giving up money, what would a Freeman extension look like?

Maybe next April Fool's Day the Braves, Acuna and Albies will just announce this was all just a big April Fool's joke on Braves' fans.

The Braves gained control over 4 FA years, just like they did with Acuna.

This deal may be even more of a heist than the Acuna deal...

    No probably to it.
With as little as the Braves got away paying Acuna and Albies, there should be no excuse for not having money for free agents and being in on anyone on the free agent market that makes sense this next offseason or at the trade deadline.
    Crazy good and cheap extensions!

Man this is a freakin steal. If Dansby has a breakout year he won’t be so cheap Bc he got a big bonus already so he’ll cost more.

So maybe it looks like this

    2019 1 M
    2020 2 M
    2021 3 M
    2022 5 M
    2023 6 M
    2024 7 M
    2025 7 M
    2026 7 M option
    2027 7 M option

    "I am your retribution."
