That's always the story with Fredi: he (mostly) doesn't lose the games, but he also never helps the team win.

How do we fix the pen? I don't want us trading for pen guys.

Peds killed the pen . Tj killed the pen.

I wish we would bring up more guys like Martin and have them pitch two or three inning stretches but fredi will never do that

Punt the game in the third inning? I wanted Shelby to be out of the game so that we could win the game.

It's hard to find a team that's readily to concede their year and start trading away their relievers. Best 2 I see are Papelbon and KRod. Papelbon I believe will insist his option for 13 million in 2016 get picked up to accept a trade but it won't cost us anything in 2017. Krod's a rental so he shouldn't be too expensive. Get these two and I think we play game 163 this year. Would be an interesting dynamic with 4 closers but Papelbon is probably the only one to be dick enough to insist on closing.

If we start to talk about trading for relievers I'm going to have to route for losses.

We should not be buyers this year. We r not there.

Stick to your plan. We have a ton of non elite prospects who are solid arms in aa and aaa. Use them

The other second guessable decision was pinch hitting for Martin in the bottom of the fifth after the Todd had put us up 6 to 4.

I'd like to see Kohn and Greg Smith called up and Masset and Cunniff sent down. Keep cycling guys in and out until someone seizes the opportunity. Kelly is another option. Has done well in limited innings in Gwinnett after doing very well in Mississippi. Ryne Harper is another possibility but he is just getting back from an injury and needs a few more weeks to round into shape.

    This was the biggest one.

They just sent Martin down to stretch him out, yet when he gets back we can't use him for more than 2/3 of an inning? I cussed that decision as it was happening. Not surprised at all that it came back to bite us in the ass.

Fredi logic "When you can use one pitcher to go multiple innings, why? when you have a whole bullpen of arms to use up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We'll run them back out there tomorrow and see what they got. You don't know if they are gonna be effective or not unless they are in the game or not. It's a chance worth taking. It's like burning a pinch hitter to bunt, makes a lot of sense you know...why take a chance taking a base when you can use an out to move up a base"

Can we leave EY in the desert? I mean, I'm not advocating literally abandoning the guy in the middle of the desert, just DFAing him before we leave Arizona. For now.

I am oddly enough incredibly positive about this team. I love the fight. If this BP can be improved upon, then we could seriously get something going.

We might as well bring Perez up. He's not a great player but I'm 100% sure he can outperform EY.

Yep, if we had a halfway decent pen, we're in 1st.

Cue giles and wupk with the other teams bullpens blow games too.

Add one more if we dont come back, this bullpen is an absolute joke but i'll blame Fredi.
