I'll say this...it is the mindset of a player thinking of himself rather than his team
    "I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."

    "I am your retribution."

I am less interested in Macahado unless he'd be replacing Dansby.

Ideally, we could grab him, put him at third, Camargo at 2b, and Ozzie at SS for the stretch run

Agreed. That mindset may have been prevalent a decade ago and some teams may even think that way now. But I would think most teams look at a player and see where he provides the most value to the team. And for Machado that is going to be at 3B imo. Maybe he thought he could handle short and that's why he did that. I think when teams start throwing him cash to play 3B he will quickly change his tune.

So now the Yankees have increased interest. Watch Cashman (as usual) sneak in and get him for less than anyone thought.

Cashman has been brilliant, especially lately. It also helps to have the deep pockets to take on a little more money. Or miss on a trade or player and just cut ties and move on.

Teams like the Yankees are unfortunately playing on a totally different playing field. Not only do they have very deep pockets and the ability to do moves most teams can't, but now their player development has been among the best in the majors.

Very true. They are churning out power arms and impact hitters like a factory.

    Yep.

Once the Yankees add Machado, Harper, and another frontline starter, it's over. Nobody else will have a chance for a while.

    Those guys were old.

The Yankees are much smarter now.

Severino, Torres, Harper, Machado, Sanchez, Judge are all 26 or younger. Stanton is 28.

Yankees probably want Machado, Britton, and Gausman/Bundy.
