    Dispatch from Japan

From the no-I-won't-give-it-a-rest department, these numbers are just in from the Japanese Central League:

    Mauro Gomez
.286-23-93 with 144 strikeouts (second highest in league to Brad Eldred)

    And From the Pacific League:

    Ernesto Mejia
    .308-30-62 with 123 strikeouts in 85 games
    Andruw Jones
    .220-20-61 with 126 strikeouts in 119 games

Lots of swinging and missing over there, too.

And with Brad Eldred's 148 SO's, he also has 91 RBI (more if he had baserunners to drive in) and 33 HRs. The mystery is far from being solved.

That won't do much to enhance his HOF credentials.

    Or so we think.

    Might actually be 45.

Didn't Furcal AND Betemit lie about their age?

Well, let me put it another way:

considering how much ranting this board has entertained over the Uggla & BJ contracts, Dodgers fans had a legitimate beef with his deal. Andruw Jones's last season with the Braves was pure raw suckage...and a sign of things to come. So, he was done a professional ballplayer much sooner than his mid 30's.
