    Reds Sign Jair Jurrjens

Jurrjens, still only 28 years old, has been rehabbing his long-troublesome knee after off-season surgery and agreed to a minor league deal.

He had a 2.38 ERA for the Braves in 2011, but a 6.63 ERA since. They'll place with with Class AAA Louisville.

Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Anthony Lerew has been signed by the Angels out of the indy league York Revolution. He's always been active, but has not pitched in the majors since 2010.

Me too. I actually wanted us to sign him for depth in AAA. If his knee is finally healthy he might have a Major league future again. I hope so as I have always liked him.

If this surgery takes care of it, you have to wonder why he didn't try it sooner. It was so very obvious he wasn't right physically. Love to see him make a comeback.

The surgery was this offseason, and what I got out of the story is that he is just now at the point where he's throwing in game conditions.
