To put it lightly, people getting concerned about Albies start to the season after that injury were just getting themselves worked up over nothing.

You mean he's not going to be the only active minor leaguer who is already in the Hall of Fame. Seriously, a lot of folks need to give the kid some time. All indications are he will get right again and all will be well with the world.

The numbers CJ9 posted on his last 28 games suggest he has already righted himself.

I think pretty much everyone, in general, needs to be more patient with prospects. It seems like if the player isn't constantly ascending, he's written off or downgraded.

I would agree. It's just that all the early season gnashing of teeth was so annoying. The kid can play. Let him play a full year at AAA and slot him in next April (unless they want to insulate themselves from the whole Super 2 thing).

Super, I totally agree. We don't know what these guys are working on. The minor league staff knows what dominates at one level may not translate to success as a guy moves up. Baseball is a game of constant adjustments and young players have to learn how to make those adjustments. That usually requires a fair amount of tinkering as a player climbs the ladder and that likely means some valleys in performance.

It's almost like he was returning from an injury or something.

Yet there are folks on his board that wouldn't even have him in the Braves Top 5 anymore...

I suppose they "know baseball" like thethe does.

hahah, right? Returning from an injury and crazy young for that level, with his track record. He's still #1 for me.

    1 - Albies
    2 - Acuna
    3 - Soroka
    4 - Allard
    5 - Wright
    6 - Maitan
    7 - Newk
    8 - Gohara
    9 - Anderson
    10 - Fried

    That's a pretty loaded top-10

To be fair, he struggled mightily in AAA well before his injury. At his age I wasn't too concerned, but I think it was fair to bring it up for discussion. It looks like he's back on track and let's hope he stays that way. At his age and track record of course he has to stay our #1

Stacked. Almost as great to think about how loaded 11-20 is comparatively.

haha, I don't have a big issue if anyone thinks Wright should be first there. I think the last time I listed them out I put Wright ahead of Allard.

I'm not putting Wright ahead of Soroka though, we all talk at great lengths about Albies' age and how important that is to remember, well Soroka is 19 at AA with a 3.19 FIP, 8.27 K/9 and 1.94 BB/9, those numbers are ridiculous for his age.

Am I crazy for being concerned about Allard? The Ks are down to 6.92 per 9 this season, and most scouting reports have him pitching 89-91.

I think Soroka has to be considered our top pitching prospect right now given what he's doing at AA as a teenager. I would put Wright ahead of Allard though. Gohara and Allard are pretty close IMO if Gohara can stay healthy. Allard has th edge though right now.

I am concerned. His peripherals are not that good. And I thought he was supposed to put up a fastball in the mid 90s when we drafted him. Still, he's a teenager in AA.

Nope. 89-91 isn't going to cut it, no matter how many times posi-Barves bring up Glavine.

The good news is that he's 19, and we know he has more than that in him.

Pretty frustrating if gohara is indeed a better prospect than Newcomb considering who we traded for each
