Can't really have a clear opinion of this until we see what Hart gets for Upton.

It is more difficult to measure defense. Basically it boils down to this. If a player has say a 25 score on defense, his true value could be anywhere from 15 to 35. By comparison if his offensive score is 25, his true value might be in a 22-28 range. But don't think that the defensive stats systematically overrate good defensive players. There is just as good a chance they are underrating guys like Simmons and Heyward.
The fact that we can't measure something precisely doesn't mean we should discount its importance. And btw that goes for some of the stuff I make fun of like grit, leadership, clutchness and a fourth quality whose name escapes me at the moment.

thethe's right.
Defense is important but its not the end-all in building teams up.
I mean, the Giants just won the WS with basically having one consistent SP in the playoffs.
You get in and let the chips fall where they may.
