The title of this topic, the name given to Ronald Acuna, Jr by some, and all the political BS make this a highly offensive topic. I came here to this site to talk baseball, not political BS, not to give props to a country in so much turmoil by citing a highly talented ball player(not to mention the other 5 Braves players from Venezulea) and compare Acuna Jr to an existing player. The kid needs his own time to develop into an MLB great.

I think highly offensive is a bit extreme

This is an insanely offensive comment. How dare you. If we were in Ontario I would drag you in front of the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.

You’re offended the OP compared acuna to trout? Yeah, that is so offensive (eye roll). The political stuff is garbage on the main board no matter which side I agree with.

The word Venezuela does seem a trifle offensive. Just a weird bunch of sounds.

Couldn't agree more. It's getting to the point where I question why I still come back (I know I won't be missed if I go). I've been lurking in the background following this group around for probably about 15 years. It was always a great source for Braves info.
Over the past year a few posters, especially in the political forum, have made it pretty unbearable. I still log in a couple times a day, basically out of habit, but I find myself looking elsewhere for my daily Braves fix.
I know there's no way to fix it, things change and we change with it.

I take one day off because I was real busy and I see a topic has gone down the toilet. Guess I shouldn’t be away any days. Absolutely no politics on this part of the forum. You all know where the politics fit on this site. Stay on topic or the lock is coming to this thread.

Also, knock off the personal attacks.

    Seems sustainable.

It’s not, but he has hit at a ridiculous BABIP at every level now

    It's not, but I've never said he'd hit .433.

I'd say he'll hit in the .300 range with 30 bombs and 30 swipes.

7.5 AB per steal in ST. Let's say he gets 550 AB this year.

That's 73 steals. I think he'll slow down a bit because he's not going to hit .433, but 30 is definitely within reach. Likely even.

You forgot to extrapolate his HR output

It’s adorable watching you attempt math though haha

Is it possible to hit .433 without a good BABIP?

Is it possible to simply enjoy watching him play without giving two *hits about what his BABIP is???

The kid's a *elluva ballplayer, and I couldn't care less about the rate of $$$/WAR he produces for Liberty Media over his career - the type of player real baseball FANS get excited about seeing play.

Anybody who tries to add anything to that discussion obviously doesn't actually understand the game.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
