Would love to somehow bring a favorite son back to Atlanta. JHey is probably broken at this point, but he still seems like he could be a great buy low value.

Harper contract would have to be some sort of front loaded deal with an opt out after year 2 and 3, and probably a 3rd opt out as well. Something like:
2019 (26): $45M
2020 (27): $45M, opt out 1
2021 (28): $40M, opt out 2
2022 (29): $35M, opt out 3
2023 (30): $35M
2024 (31): $35M
2025 (32): $35M
2026 (33): $35M
2027 (34): $35M
2028 (35): $35M
2029 (36): $35M
2030 (37): $35M
The Braves could probably swing 2/90 or 3/125, but they can't handle 12/450 long term.
Atlanta is no longer the market for players to advertise their brand. He’s a Yank or back home to the West coast.
DOB has assured me the Braves won't be interested because they have Inciarte, Pache and Acuña.

Harper really gets $400 mil?? He’s great but not what Albert was in his prime. He also hasn’t won in the playoffs. I think he’s worth the $250-$300 mil range. I feel like someone like Trout is a $400 mil guy.
He's not Albert in his prime. Albert in his prime also didn't have guys making 30+ million a year. Now I don't think he'll come anywhere close to ever repeating his 2015 season but as is he's a 5 WAR player at 25 years old with his value coming from offense. He will get an inflated contract for the same reason Heyward did. He's hitting FA at such an early age that you are going to get all of his prime years. I'd say on a pure value standpoint he's probably a 35 million a year guy. Hitting FA at his age pushes that close to 40. Now it's just adding in how many years you think he signs for.

Depends what payroll jumps to, they could afford one big contract, i dont know if they get in that kinda bidding war for Harper.
AA on the outfield:
1.Signs Harper to a big deal.
2. Works a trade to get Jhey back with the Cubs.
3. Says screw it...Tucker is raking and Pache and Waters are STUDS...we don’t need a long term option.
4. Signs Nick to a two year extension cause he’s 80 grade!!
AA on 3rd:
1. Signs Machado to a big deal.
2. Gets Donaldson for way to much at his age, but it’s cool...he’s my guy!!
3. Riley is a STUD...we don’t need a long term option.
AA overall roster:
1. I gots cash in 2019...imma sign some big names...let the good times roll.
2. NOW I have had time to see which guys I don’t like...let the trading begin!!
3. Imma hold on to that money, cause all these young guys gonna want PAID soon. I’ll be pretty careful with trading prospect, cause a like ALOT of them!!
I will say:
3, 1, 3

If the payroll is 120 million in 2030 we have other problems.
I like the 3/125 option. Heck 3/150. He'd have a shot to get crazy money and still be a FA before 30 (ghost of Christmas future braves fans for Acuna. Those that want to rush people up. Pache, Albies, etc are going to be very young FA).
Kazmir, Adrian Gonzales, Dickey and Neck add up to about 45 million.
I think if Harper come on they can bump the payroll some because they know they will sell more tickets and Harper stuff. Potentially playoffs.
Line up:
Albies
Harper
Acuna
FF
Riley..........I'm not thinking he's great but I think he will be a cheap thumper.
Inciarte
Catcher
Swanson...
I think the pitching staff will be much better next year.
I like that team.
Worst case scenario should be he stays with the Nats and the Nats have to be on the hook for 10+ years and 400 million.
PS I think there is no chance this happens. But I like it in theory.
Even if Riley doesn't work out couldn't we just live with a defensive guy at third like Camargo at a pre arb / arb 1 rate for the three years?
This make's a lot of sense and we have pitching for days so I don't see the need to spend big on a pitcher.
You put freeman/harper/acuna/albies in one lineup and you're going to be a top tier offense.
No to trading Ender sooner than 2019-2020 off-season.
