Oh and remember when we beat up Matsuzaka for 6 runs in 3 IP earlier this month? Since then, he's only given up 4 ER in 4 games! Including 7 2/3 IP of 4 hit ball IN Cincinnati today. Wow.
Giants offering up a human sacrifice, Barry Zito, to aid the Dodgers tonight.
Nats down 4-1 in the 7th. We're not going to get any help from them it seems.

Hopefully one day, Bucknor screws Gomez over, and Gomez gives him a black eye and gets suspended for 50 games. Everybody wins.
And Selig won't do anything about it. Awesome. You know what I'm hoping for. I hope that in one of the "more pronounced" playoff games Dodgers/Stl or Boston/Detroit that something much much worse than this happens that directly influences a game...I don't know maybe an infield fly in the outfield ;)...and finally the negative pub towards the umps causes for something drastic to be done. It's criminal that these umpires continue to be this bad and nothing comes from it. Just makes them feel even more lazy with making the correct call.

If I've learned anything, baseball is the one job, especially an umpire, when you can be outright atrocious at what you do and still get paid while being supported by your bosses. I guess professors, politicians and people like that could fall into that category, but that's more subjective. With guys like Bucknor, Hernandez, Eddings, it's painfully obvious.
I know we are not Yankee fans, but this is still very cool:

Loved seeing Jeter and Pettitte take him out.
Mo is one of the greats. Wish him all the best.
While they aren't making the playoffs, I think its safe to say Dayton and Ned have bought themselves at least another year with the Royals.
