No play in game for the last WC spot. No way the Nats miss the WC game now. Both are things I would have enjoyed.

Not a shock but Martinez basically said Max will start 163.

He's projected to pitch Sunday, but would he still go if thats game for HFA?

Not that I want him back, but I just noticed Lucas Sims has been striking out guys at a rate of 12 per 9 IP. His ball-in-play is heavily tilted to flyballs, which contributes to some HR issues, but maybe he's found his place in the bullpen. Control is still pretty shaky.

So far we've seen rumblings that Mookie Betts (1 year control) and Starling Marte (2 years control) may be available in trade this off season. If true, those are certainly potential targets for AA.

Mookie is owed a whopping 30 mil in arb, whats the most you'd give up for him, Waters and filler?

It will be so hard to trade betts. No team will give up much for one year of control. But Boston will want a haul.

Hard to say. AA has shown no hesitation in giving up big dollars on short deals, so $30M for a single season of a young MVP caliber player isn't going to be an issue.

Thinking about it a little more, dumping prospect assets into a 1 year player isn't something AA is likely to do unless the BoSox love someone like Riley or a spin-rate impaired Anderson.

It's tough on both sides, Betts wants to test FA, and idk if anyone is giving up a lot for him when he's gonna get 300 mil.

I think he probably stays but if Boston cant pay him, it makes sense to move him, this winter while he has a year of control is when he'd have the most value. Wouldnt get as much at the deadline, Machado didnt bring back much.

Might be worth calling the Mariners again about Mitch Haniger. Coming off an injury-plagued season, one fewer year of control - the price might come down significantly from where it was last winter.

Betts and Acuna in the same outfield. Wow. He’s from Tennessee so chances are good that he grew up a Braves fan.

Considering he wants to test FA, would be shocked if AA traded any of Anderson/Waters/Pache for 1 year of Betts.

I think they keep him at the end of the day unless someone blew them away with an offer.
