Apparently the Marlins are considering Pudge Rodriguez for the manager role.

    They love an old catcher.

Harper has never been projected to hit for the sort of average he is displaying now. He was hyped for his insane raw power at such a young age, his advanced plate discupline, and his overall athleticism. He was never projected to consistently hit for a high average. Highly doubtful that he maintains a .326 average.

Trout/Miggy are still the best players in baseball.

But even if one or both happen I could still see a win-win result in this particular trade given how well our side of the deal is looking so far. It will be interesting to see how Fried comes back because if he comes back strong it could be a big win for us no matter how it ends up for the Padres.
It would be absolutely incredible if the Braves got a protected first rounder and signed Upton next year. Can you say world series?

Sure based on the last few years. But we are in 2015 right now and harper is the most talented offensive plAyer in baseball. Just because some won't acknowledge it for a year or two doesn't make it not true now.

At least one if not 2 if not all of those things will fall. Obviously his power is legit so I expect that to take the least of the hit, and walk rate will have a spike with a power boost but not 100%, and I expect his BABIP to come crashing down to earth.
Not on his dick. I can't stand the nationals and would rather Harper suck. I just have two eyes and realize greatness when I see it (insert francouer joke here).

LOL the Marlins are making Dan Jennings (their GM) manager.

There’s little precedent for such a move, although the D-Backs took a similar course in 2009 when the moved A.J. Hinch from the front office — he was the team’s director of player development — to the managerial role after dismissing Bob Melvin. Hinch, like Jennings, had never managed or coached a team at any professional level in the past. Back in the late 1980s, the Indians named John Hart manager for a brief 19-game stretch to close out the season before transitioning to president of baseball operations the following year.

Cubs DFA'd Phil Coke today. His results so far this year have not been good, but still seems kind of bizarre for the Cubs of all teams to do this given that his velocity and peripherals have been fine. If he clears waivers, I think he'd represent an upgrade for our bullpen.

Corey Kluber is on an absolute filthy stretch right now... last 14 2/3 innings, 30 strikeouts and 0 walks.

That's pretty subjective. And probably pretty inaccurate. Trout is very simliar in raw power, has better plate discipline, hits for a higher average, and is a much better base runner. How exactly is Harper more talented?

Harper is a great talent, but again, smashing a number of career stats he likely won't maintain. Lets look at a bit of a bigger sample. You were this same way 2 season ro so ago when he got off to a great start

The answer is—at least so far in their respective careers—ultimately and always: he isn't more talented than Trout.

Thats true. He hit virtually the same way in April of 2013 before cooling off quite substantially the next couple of months.

Look, I'm not Harper fan and I'm sure I haven't given him the credit that he deserves. At the moment, he is flat out showing he can be a superstar. But on NO PLANET is he a better baseball player than Cabrera or especially Trout.

Also, imagine Chip Caray when you tell him the Braves are getting $2.25M worth of Coke for $500K.

Or he came back to earth. Injries are a part of the game. You donm't think Trout and Miggy deal with injuries?

Yup, Trout and Cabrera would play through a torn ulnar collateral ligament. What a pussy Harper is.

Never called him a pussy. Just pointing out that injuries and sports go hand in hand. Especially sports like baseball where you play 162 games a year. Miggy played 2013 with injuries like a groin strain and more and won the MVP. Miggy is tough as nails. Now he's also not an outfielder.
