Reports state that Hart wanted a more analytic-savvy coach next to Snitker.
I guess JS won this battle.
If he can get Snitker to understand some pretty simple splits and the need to get Kemp out of the outfield late in games where we have a lead, it would at least be a little victory. Baby steps.
We could've gotten a pitching guru in Mickey Callaway as our manager with our young pitching coming up yet we stay with Gut Snitker.
I think the worst and most baffling decisions (and trust me there are plenty) is retaining Snitker as manager when a guy like Bud Black was available to be able to upgrade and retaining Chuck Hernandez as pitching coach when there are a whole slew of better options available this offseason. There are 5 guys out on the open market that are top notch and available, and yet we stick with Chucky because we want stability.
Look, and I don't even have that big of a problem with Snitker. I think he's a good baseball guy, but managerial decisions such as lineup construction and bullpen management aren't his forte. That's why someone like Black would have been nice while keeping Snitker on the big league coaching staff to work on the fundamentals.
And I'm still confused as to why Eddie and TP were let go besides the fact that our dysfunctional FO needs to deflect blame at someone besides themselves. Why not Porter or Washington...oh that's right we need a staff full of former managers like Weiss. Might as well bring Fredi back.
Schueholz needs to GO!

Really wish we were at least talking to Jim Hickey on some level.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
