Dan Lebetard was giving Manfred the **** on his radio show. Damn it that was great. I don’t like Manfred whatsoever

I definitely think he's in for a career year and some demolishing PAs against the Braves now that he's signed with the Zombie Expos.

I actually don't recall anyone who thought he would sign for more than his projected arbitration number, but I do think you are right that some people felt he might have some trade value.

From talking chop after his release: "Adams put up 115 wRC+ and 1.3 fWAR in 314 PAs with the Braves, and was projected to earn about $4.6 million in arbitration per Matt Swartz/MLB Trade Rumors."

Depending on the reachability of the various incentives, his contract has a fair market value somewhere between 4 and 4.5 million. So he's just under the projections. Lot closer to his arb value than 3 million though. He was more or less worth what he would have been paid and it would have been defensible for the Braves to keep him, but he sure did remain a pretty bad fit.

Got to love these organizations sending the boys over the top one more time just like the British at Gallipoli

Or like Hitler moving his pretend Armies around on the map in the last days in his bunker

The Giants are a hot mess. They are fun to play with in MLB the Show in terms of tearing down and building their team through prospects and trades in franchise mode.

Talk of them signing Jay Bruce as well.

For them, it is just about making the wild card and then hoping Cueto and Bumgarner are elite. If they get that, anything can happen. It does look like it will crash pretty hard at some point, but they absolutely have no reached the end of their window. It's getting close though.

The closer I look at it we're in a situaiton to take advantage of the 3B market. We're one of maybe 7 teams who are remotely involved.

Royals- They could bring Moose back, but I doubt it. They should just take all of this picks and start the rebuild
Yankees- Andujar would be fine, but they might decide to move him in a package for a pitcher and could take Moose or Frazier
Mets- I think the Mets would be a good fit for Frazier, but they don't have the money
Phillies- The Phils would make sense for Moose or Frazier since they're trying to spend some cash, but they're also stuck with Franco
Padres- The Pads have Headley and Solarte but they are always a wild card to do something odd
Cards- The Cards could go for Moose or Frazier and flip Gyorko or Matt Carpenter, but it would only make sense if they go for Moose on a longer deal.

Who knows what is going to happen, but I think we're in a good position to get Frazier on a 2 year deal, Gyorko on his 2 year deal with an option , or Solarte on his 1 year deal with option

I think you got it nailed. Headley is also obviously an option still. If the Braves don’t come away with an upgrade at 3b it means one thing...they don’t have any money.

I think Frazier goes to the Yankees and Moose to the Phillies. Nunez has been the guy who has interested me the most among the third base free agents, but I'm not sure we have the funds.

    Does Posey have NTC?

He would probably like the chance to come home at some point and play in ATL.

I'm just curious to see what the years and AAVs will be for these guys. My guess is the dominoes will fall rapidly after the first of the three signs.

I'm not sure what it's in his contract but by the time the Giants are ready to blow it up he will be a 10/5 player and have those rights.

Now there are rumors the trade is potentially Frazier/Andujar/Adams for Cole/Harrison.

That’s a pretty even trade, but I’d still chalk it up as a win for the Pirates.
