Why do people keep saying this? We didn't take a lesser prospect return. Yes, we could have gotten a better return had we paid the entire salary. But once again, that is not a standard thing in trades. We were moving backward to send any money at all. You would have to get a team willing to send more in assets in order to pay nothing. There may not have been a team willing to do that.

Ultimately, I am fine not having moved any of the veterans.

If we trade Philips, then we call up Albies, whom we should protect service time, or Swanson who should get time to work on some stuff and not split work with Camargo.

If we ate Markakis or Kemp money this year then that likely means Acuna gets the call up.

Jim Johnson is a capable reliever who is in one of his annual slumps. It makes more sense for us to keep him and rehabilitate his value then give him away.

I would rather keep Flowers, then trade him to create a hole at catcher again. It makes so much more sense to keep the best receiver in baseball to pair him with the young starters who should eat a lot of innings the next two seasons.

There are a few players I would have loved to have moved like Matt Adams and Suzuki, but in this market we likely weren't going to get all that much.

I think D-pete is next in line if we were able to dump Neck or KEMvP.

I thought about that and i would have been fine with that outcome, but I would understand why the team feels like he needs more seasoning, especially given his injury shortened season,

I hope he gets the sept call (he prob will).. and shows well enough that it makes dumping 1 if not both those guys a priority for the FO.. I am so tired of noodle arm Neck in RF and Fat Kemp in LF..

Honestly, I was disappointed that they didn't (by any means)...trade JJ and one of (if not both of)...Kemp and Nick. DPete is probably ready (actually was before his injury and is now back to his old self), and Acuna will obviously be up soon also. Those corner outfield spots will KILL us next year.

So, I wasn't looking to acquire any amazing players, just really hoped we could get creative, eat "some" cash if needed and move these guys.

Most of the Braves tradeable assets should clear waivers. Movement still could happen over the next 30 days.

I like that the FO stays in the mix on guys like Q and Gray but I like even more that they had enough restraint this year not to make a stupid trade

If they sign Darvish, probably a good deal for the Dodgers, but I think Calhoun is the best minor leaguer that was moved today. Guy can flat out rake.

My wish(which will never happen) is some AL team claims Kemp and we just give him away

He's a DH, and was expendable.

Even if they dont re-sign Darvish, it doesnt hurt LA long-term that much.

The casual fan would throw a sh..fit if that were to happen. The casual fan still thinks he is 2011 Matt Kemp.

Unfortunately the only team dumb enough to take Kemp was Braves.

This will be illustrated when no team claims him next month

Why people complain so much? So i guess everyones preferred to pay Hector Olivera and dont have a player to cover left field. Kemp he been playing ok for us and thanks to him Freeman been getting pitch. I wish we dont have Matt kemp but this team have way too many flaws.

We are stuck with a terrible player for another 2 years and paying him a whole lot of money to suck
