Not that age is the real measuring stick, but he is 21 so he could overcome Allard and become in the list of Gohara, Fried, Sims that are considered next year followed by Soroka, Allard in 2019.

Pick up Flower's option and possibly try out Jackson in 2019...at least as a backup

He was killing the ball early in the year then started to really slump and then the long injury absence. Seems like that may have been the reason. Still feel like we stole this kid.

That's really encouraging. What's the current "board consensus" on his ceiling and on his most likely outcome? Do most still think he has an ace ceiling?

Not for Pfiefer. Made the 9th inning more exciting than it needed to be. Could have easily blown save and lost the game.

I love Touki and don't know why he isn't getting any top 100 looks. He is really starting to put it together. He's shown clear improvements all year.

Geez... if Touki has found it, he's just got stud written all over him. I like the thought of Touki, Gohara, Wright, and Soroka all in the same rotation. That's obviously not likely but it sounds sexy if they all reached even close to their ceilings.

Maitan with a triple and an RBI today. I hope he picks it up soon... he's only 17 and in Danville, but he's downright sucked so far. Could be a nagging injury issue also.

Its actually quite remarkable that his average is that high considering how horrid he started AA

Ryan "The Wrong" Schlosser loses another (0-5, 7.85). Do the Braves owe their family a mulligan over misuse of his brother?

I get the feeling, that Touki was in A+ working on something specific. Then either July hit and he "got it" or they said, it is good enough, "Try to pitch the games now" and he has turned it on.

Atlanta gets a lot of flack for rushing prospects, but I feel like Touki is an example of where they were patient to just the right level and now they can push him. But so far, July and August have been amazing at A+ and AA.

Touki has turned it around big time. Between him, Wright, Soroka, Allard, and Gohara we should find a couple of TOR starters. And 2 back end starters easily between them and Folty and Newk. We just need one more established guy like Archer.

Of all the pitchers in the Braves system, Touki is the guy I want to watch pitch with statcast tracking his pitches. I want to see the data on a bugs bunny curveball.

Touki has to be in the running for a top 100 prospect.

The aggregate stats for the year don't begin to the tell the story of how elite he is becoming. There are probably many pitchers in the top 100 other teams would trade to us straight up for Touki. Guy has k'ed 10.6 batters per name.

Anyone have any reports of a third pitch?

Watch the MiLB video of his 9th K. That 3rd strike was a thing of beauty. Hit his spot like he was going for trip 20.

If Riley is the real deal and spends 2018 in AAA, I'd like to see Ruiz up at 3B to see what he can do over a few months next season. I wouldn't want the Braves to sign a Frazier or Moustakas to a multi-year deal. Maybe you can get Phillips on a cheaper 1 year deal at 3B if Ruiz just isn't the answer.
