Markakis has not been hitting the ball hard, same thing with Freeman, as I say that neck gets an opposite field base hit

Haha, finally he finds a hole. Hope he can get hot once more and we flip him to Royals, O's or whomever makes best offer (even Phillies if they want him).

It figures Frenchy would tie it, one way or another he'll get enough hits that we have to watch him all season long. While also not getting the needed looks at others (Smith, Garcia, KJ in OF, etc). I mention KJ because if he gets hot he has some value at the deadline as we saw last year with the Mets trade. His track record with them helps IMO.

We are gonna have to eat some of the contract regardless, but if we can get someone to say they'll pay around half more or less, I'd jump on it.

Yeah smith needs to be in more. And to be honest I think Freeman could use a mental day off

We already had two shots of trading him without eating anything, last year at deadline and when he was hot early this year according to MLBTR. But like with Maybin, Aybar, among others I agree that chance has likely passed.

Yup he is slumping majorly. If we can get someone to take him off our hands and the contract then regardless of return you consider it a win

Castro is going have to show more ability to hit as he's not saving enough runs at short to make up for it. In fact his DRS is -1 at short this year and EVEN going back to last year. He's been best at second but with Swanson and Albies not far off and with D' Arnaud hitting so well I'd lean towards trying him at short whenever we replace Aybar at this point. Then have him in consideration as back-up at short moving forward. Though I like Camargo a lot as back-up SS to Swanson or Albies in the future because with his arm he could be a plus defender in MLB. Camargo might not hit much but homie has a cannon of an arm, not on Simmons level but closest to him we have in the system. He's playing second now simply because of Albies and Swanson being our future starters at short (one of them anyway).

This d'arnaud kid is pretty fun to watch. He may a piece we could get a B prospect for at the deadline or maybe 2 C prospects

What does flowers have to do to play? Better on offense and defense

I'm not going to say he's some stud on offense, but he looks good now

Given his age and track record I doubt we get much, so might be better to keep him for the bench to back-up second, short, third, OF next year and then trade him next deadline when he has a longer track record of success to find some believers in him. That's if he can keep up enough hitting that long and I'm not sure he can, then again with his speed you never know he could hit enough to be a useful bench piece. He has the speed to be a good pinch runner and his pinch hitting so far has been very good.

He is so much better than AJP, maybe he needs to kiss ass more?

yep and he did it without his best stuff and having Aybar at short for part of it. So I give him extra credit there.

Flowers is pretty elite at pitch framing, one of the best last year.

True but maybe to a contender at the deadline they may be willing to give up a B or 2C prospects. Again I like the kid so maybe getting a little quantity if possible would be good for us

He is good at framing but also calls a better game than AJP. And he contributes on offense.

Not to long ago Flowers was a budding catcher, now he's blossoming, soon he'll be in full bloom, he's gonna be a pistil or maybe a stamen, that's to be determined. Soon all the wimmens will be stalking him.

I know, it's just comparing him to AJP doesn't say much IMO since AJP has been the worst starting catcher in MLB and is so terrible now he should retire. Seriously, maybe the worst starter I have ever seen this year all things considered. He cannot even catch the ball anymore, cannot throw out runners, and has long been among the worst pitch framers and now he's gone blind it seems. Again, just retire old man you're embarrassing yourself, Braves and MLB.
