Which is more absurd: giving Austin Meadows a 65 FV or comparing Ronald Acuņa to Mike Trout?

One of them will never make the big leagues. The other will probably at least be an All-Star.

It is quite the conundrum, to be sure.

Comparing any prospect to Mike Trout is absurd.

Sigh. He's great but not the unassailable greatest.

I'd take Willie Mays, Ken Griffey, Jr., Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle over him in CF alone.

These are the 13 names that have produced a season as good or better than Trout's age 20 season:

    Carl Yastrzemski+ (27)
    Barry Bonds (37)
    Lou Gehrig+ (24)
    Cal Ripken+ (30)
    Babe Ruth+ (31)
    Honus Wagner+ (34)
    Ty Cobb+ (30)
    Mickey Mantle+ (25)
    Willie Mays+ (34)
    Stan Musial+ (27)
    Joe Morgan+ (31)
    Ted Williams+ (27)
    Rogers Hornsby+ (25)

So yes, you are being silly, like a child.

Dude is hitting .248 at AAA with minimal pop. I shouldn't have said he will never make the big leagues, though. Worse players have.

Leave the board bet based on Acunas total WAR next season?

I disagree, but that isn't my point. I don't think it's fair to compare prospects to all time great, inner circle, HOFers.

You sure do assume a lot. But I like you for some reason.

DiMaggio posted a 9 WAR season before military service robbed us of his prime.

Mantle posted consecutive 11 WAR seasons.

Mays had 4 straight seasons of 10 WAR.

Griffey had a 9.7 WAR season after injury.

Derp derp Mike Trout derp derp Millville Meteor derp derp.

If you're so confident about how smart you are, prove it. So much talk, nothing to back it up.

You think he is better than Trout and will be equal to Judge. Well, Judge is on pace for about 8 WAR this year, and Trout posted 10.8 when he was 20.

Leave the board bet based on Acunas total WAR next season? Want to set the over under about midway between Judge and Trout? Let's say 9 WAR?

I have never said he was better than Trout. I have just compared them. Please refer to my earlier posts ITT.

Acuņa is not going to post 9 WAR if they put him in a corner. No way. If he were in CF, it would be possible.

I will bet you that he has a 30/30 year, though. Trout did it as a rookie.

Is that something in which you'd be interested?

    Yes. Deal.

If he doesn't post 30+ HRs and 30+ SBs at the MLB level next year, you're gone.

If he equals or beats both those marks, I'm gone.

That's a terrible bet, man. The odds are against you and even if you're right I highly doubt Enscheff will honor the agreement.

I invite the mods to get involved to enforce the outcomes of all bets of this nature.

Now I just need to get you to back one of your own moronic ideas.

Mike Trout in AA in 2011: 11 HR in 412 PA. 37.4 AB per HR.

He hit 30 HR in 639 PA in the Majors in 2012. That's 21.1 AB per HR.

Ronald Acuna in AA and AAA in 2017: 12 HR in in 314 PA. 26.1 AB per HR.

Let's say Ronald gets 650 PA next year, which is on the lower end of a guy playing 155+ games.

    650 PA/26.1 AB per HR = 24.9 HR

If Ronald receives any semblance of a Trout spike, it's game over for Enscheff. Ronald will steal 30 bags no problem.
