What is the bad faith here?

Do you think he doesn't actually care about Baltimore?

You're basically saying the man can't even have a factually right opinion when it comes to POC bc you think he's inherently racist, and thus, every opinion of his racist.

Call it what you want. But I don't think anything he says can be divorced of context and his track record.

And even if you tried to set aside that track record and looked just at the words he has used with regards to Baltimore, I don't see how anyone can think he is acting in good faith.

It's just your complete inability to separate your hatred from the man for any objective analysis.

I'm happy to say that from things that actually impact POC citizen's lives, Trump has lapped Obama.

The fact you can't acknowledge that because of some tweets is your own shortcoming. Doesn't make it any less real

By most measures, the poorest area in the United States is McCreary County

in Kentucky. Poverty is so awful there that the life expectancy is six years lower

than the rest of the nation. It's in the 5th Cong. Dist.

Their congressman is Hal Rogers, a Republican.

I am certain there are many circumstances making the 5th district in Kentucky the poorest in the nation.
"The county is poor. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), says McCreary County is 91.32% dependent on the Federal government for SNAP, SSI, SSDI, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, and other government assistance programs " - wiki

And the Senators who Trump hasn't gotten around to blaming for the money pit that is Kentucky's 5th ?[IMG]data:image/jpeg;base64,

Let me also note, Johns Hopkins is not a part of Kentucky's 5th District

Another piece of Kentucky 5th is Clay County.

a portion of the Wiki page.
The median income for a household in the county was $16,271, and the median income for a family was $18,925. Males had a median income of $24,164 versus $17,816 for females. The per capita income for the county was $9,716. About 35.40% of families and 39.70% of the population were below the poverty line, including 47.60% of those under age 18 and 31.30% of those age 65 or over.

The county's per-capita income and median household income make it one of the poorest counties in the United States. Among counties whose population contains a non-Hispanic white majority, it is the poorest by per-capita income and second to another county in the same Kentucky region, Owsley County, by median household income

Clay County shares the same representation in the capital

You can look up Owsley County if you like.
I expect you will find the same data

Maryland's 7th congressional district elects a representative to the United States House of Representatives every two years. The seat is currently represented by Elijah Cummings (D). It encompasses just over half of Baltimore City, most of the majority African American sections of Baltimore County, and the majority of Howard County. The district was created following the census of 1950, which gave Maryland one additional representative in the House. It has been drawn as a majority-African American district since 1973. -wiki

In 2009, the median household income (Baltimore City) was $42,241 and the median income per capita was $25,707, compared to the national median income of $53,889 per household and $28,930 per capita. In Baltimore, 23.7% of the population lived below the poverty line, compared to 13.5% nationwide.[150]

Housing in Baltimore is relatively inexpensive for large, coastal cities of its size. The median sale price for homes in Baltimore in 2012 was $95,000.[164] Despite the housing collapse, and along with the national trends, Baltimore residents still face slowly increasing rent (up 3% in the summer of 2010).[165]

The homeless population in Baltimore is steadily increasing; it exceeded 4,000 people in 2011. The increase in the number of young homeless people was particularly severe.

    -wiki

I'll just provide a link to Baltimore County.

Rep Cummings is one of 4 members of the House representing Baltimore County. 3 (D) and 1 (R). All except for Cummings are Caucasian

All of these places have serious problems that deserve close attention and good faith attempts to find ways to improve the situation. There are mostly black areas with serious economic and social problems and mostly white areas with serious economic and social problems. Surely, people can have a good faith discussion about ideas for make life better in those areas.

So, let's talk about about the who what when wheres and whys of how Trump settled on Cummings.

    Pretty transparent isn't it?

    a) Oversight Committee -- in a attempt to discredit Cummings. He represents a place most white people are afraid of

    b) Cummings ethnicity. Make him the face of Washington --- called "red meat". And when you look at that face, what do you see?
You see America is changing. No one has ever put into words for me the who what when wheres and whys of MAGA
When America was "great" --- people that looked like Cummings weren't chairing committees investigating the Donald Trumps of the world

Why not Nadler or Schiff or Neal ???
    Cummings it is.

    Bravo

when do we get to the issue of Flint and have a serious "good faith discussion" about the drinking water in our rust belt inner cities
when do we have a serious " good faith discussion" about Appalachia ?

its not easy...there are people who have an interest in serious policy discussions...but others just prefer to shout nonsense into a megaphone...unfortunately they're the ones who seem to get most of the attention

For the record, I see racism as a collective societal -systemic term
Individuals I see as bigots. When groups of bigots get power they incorporate policies that pronounce their bigotry and aim those policies at races of people.
    thus racism
But hey Grasshopper, you knew that
Why do you keep winding up on the wrong side of these discussions.
    Ever notice that ?

I dont have to cry racism -- we have you and the other boi's to protest the **** out of the assumption of racism
Funny thing, I have never been accused of being racist --- never had to explain.
In fact still rubber neck when I see a mixed couple on the street
I do have 'splaining to do. But, I am aware of it. Perhaps that is why I dont get offended or get my hair up when people that look like me are accused of bigotry

Oh yeah, he called out Pelosi
    and Pelosi is a ... ????
    Another dog whistle.
    He misses Hillary
    .................................

Trump is historically a bigot . If you dont already know that - "You can look that up"

    The issue is poverty.
Over the years I have yet to see anything from you addressing poverty.
Except mocking those that at least make proposals
Poverty like ignorance knows no color

    .............

Having said that we could as easily classify the border issues as poverty issues
    Couldn't we ?

If you've never seen me address the issue of poverty, then you simply can't read.

Carry on... go whine and scream about racists some more. It's super helpful and useful

No I dont recall you ever - in good faith
I have seen you pillory people for not being as virtuous as yourself or pointing to those that haven't the blessings you have.

No, I dont recall ever seeing you address poverty except to point a scolding finger.

Lets talk about Flint if you want to talk about poverty, that might be a great place to start
    .........

By the same token, who have I called "racist".

I am a firm believer in allowing one enough rope to hang one's self
by making a point not to make that call

If you read, I dont even use the term on individuals
Haven't since college and I learned what the words mean
