Out of 1,226 players eligible for WAR (offensive players) this year, AJ ranks 1,225 with a -1.7 WAR. Only Alexei Ramirez is worse. Even if you add in all of the pitchers' WARs, AJ is only better than Ramirez and Alfredo Simon of Cincinnati.
He needs to go, but the Braves will play the loyalty card and DFA Recker who has completely outperformed him.

I love how the team has played lately, but I would prefer to see us keep that number one pick because Hunter Greene looks like he's a once a decade type of player.
You know, as a kid I rather liked the Cardinals--McCarver, Gibson, Brock, Flood, Boyer, etc. were a classic team. I also lived in Arkansas for a year in the late 60s and watched their AA farm team, the Arkansas Travelers. With that as prologue, I can't stand anything about the Cardinals now.
If you don't mind me asking, with your board name do you live near Fayetteville?
And to think the the Front Office messed up so badly on calculating signing bonus usage from their pool, that they wasted an opportunity to get that guy locked up and in the system instead of having to purge another year and possibly get him as a #1 once in a generation draft pick.
