Rosenthal says Padres aggressively shopping Solarte. If the acquisition cost is cheap he's a decent upgrade at 3b.

He was a guy I wanted the Braves to trade for early in the offseason. I think they filled the role he would have had in the club when they signed SRod.

Waffling? How? You said, "someone we both consider and ace", so I am trying to define that list of Aces. I said Sale, Archer and Gray.

    Deal?

Many times deals are made that no one saw coming. If said deal is still a consensus ace... he would also fit said deal

why are there no odds on this bet? it is clear that there is a greater chance that the Braves or anyone for that matter doesn't trade for an Ace. I think at this point in the off season the Braves interest was way more than 'Just due diligence', which was what was originally told.

Because I'm not going to lose this bet when the Braves trade for Ervin Santana and you spend the next 3 months arguing that he is an Ace. So make your list of Aces and let's seal this deal. Add Verlander and Quintana to the 3 I already listed.

With Dykstra and Povse getting traded recently. Our lists of players acquired before the new regime took over is dwindling. I only see 14 of any value still in the system. I think Sims and Cabrera could both be traded this offseason. Albies may be as well if we get another TOR. Camargo's value is the highest it's ever been, but our only back-up SS as of right now. Hursh, Janas and Perez fall in to that AAAA category value where we have a lot of depth and have low ceilings. Braxton's value is still too low to trade I'd assume.

    Julio Teheran
    Ozzie Albies
    Ronald Acuna
    Lucas Sims
    Mauricio Cabrera
    Braxton Davidson
    Jason Hursh
    Johan Camargo
    Stephen Janas
    Williams Perez
    Ray Patrick Didder
    Connor Lien
    Chad Sobotka
    Keith Curcio

lol.. wonder if the new luxury tax penalties are going to thin his market out. while not death, they are a bit more harsh and I think teams are going to start to want to stay within the threshold.

Braxton is a prospect that I think might be a better major league player than a minor league player. He draws a ton of walks and has natural raw power. I wonder if he just has a really good eye and gets screwed over by bad minor league umpires. As bad as the major league ones are at calling balls and strikes I can only imagine how bad it is in A ball.

Love his steamer projections though. 1 Plate Appearance and somehow supposed to hit .168/.248/.255.

This is Borass we are talking about here. Thats probably what he would have asked for if Harper repeated his 2015 season.

I'll be the referee and arbiter of who is an ace. Santana, unless he shaves that goofy chin beard, is not an ace.
