So now Paco is the only player left from the trade not to be named?

Good! I had hopes he could be a decent arm, but he sucked it up bad last year.

So pipeline can finally take him off our 30 man prospect list...So, who will they replace him with? These are my guesses. They're out of date anyways, but I still look over there.

    Dylan Moore
    Drew Harrington
    Abraham Gutierrez
    Caleb Dirks
    Matt Withrow

Not that I'm the least bit optimistic about this now, given the hauls the White Sox have gotten in their other trades at this Winter Meetings, but realistically what would we likely have to give up to get Quintana OR the 3b guy, Frazier. Either or both I guess. I look forward to you guys' expert opinions on this. :)

Quintana is going to take a big package. Not quite what Sale got but in the same ballpark. Multiple top prospects. Frazier has 1 year before FA and will be getting arbitration. So it sort of depends on what that number comes out to be but someone like at the back end of the top 100 or someone on the outside looking in.

I may be the only one, but I have zero interest in Frazier. The guy has power and has proven it in his career. But I would rather have Garcia who will hit for a higher average than a guy that hit .230ish last year.

I won't claim to be an expert, but I'll give my opinion. :)

Looking at their prospects I think they'd be looking for left handed pitching and infielders. They'd want a deal based around Albies and Newcomb. The only way it would work out for us if if they'd be willing to go with quantity over quality, but they really don't need to trade Quinatana

He had a very low BABIP last year. That average should come back up some this year. He's also one of the better clubhouse guys around as well. Power always has value.

So IF we were to include Albies, Newcomb, and 2 or 3 other good quality (but not the very best) prospects could we reasonably expect to acquire both Quintana and Frazier, if we wanted both that is?

Then comes the question should we give up a lot for one/both of these players?

Best estimates I have seen suggest Quintana should have ~80% of Sale's trade value. The prospects Sale was traded for were "worth" approximately $120M+ in surplus value, so 80% of that is approximately $100M.

Frazier is probably projected for 2.5-3 WAR next year, and is also projected to earn $13.5M in arbitration next year. That gives him a surplus value of $20M-$24M.

Albies is probably worth $65M, Newcomb is probably worth $20M-$25M, Allard, Anderson, and Soroka about $15M+ each, and other guys hanging around the back of the top 100 like Fried, Touki and Wentz are probably worth ~$10M each.

So add those things up and mix and match as you see fit. Hart/Coppy just said they won't be trying to acquire Quintana, so that answers your question about whether or not the Braves "should" trade for either of those players.

For a team in need of power I don't see why we wouldn't want Frazier. He's also better defensively. He's like 3 times the player Garcia is.

Adam Eaton is cheap and about 4 times better than Markakis.
