Why aren't we doing a single thing to punish Russia (aside from rolling out a massive sanctions package)?
Russian interference is not the issue.
Certain there is some law somewhere. More than likely that would be difficult if not impossible to prosecute .
What is at issue is did Americans collude with the Russians in any way, assisting their interference.
Which is clearly against the law

should we try and prevent a hostile foreign nation from hyper-targeting our elections?
is that a serious question?
yeah, we should try and stop any nation who does that. of course.
i mean, we're trying to stop 3-5M phantom voters from voting...simply to justify a made-up claim by trump. russian interference actually happened and is actually important.

oh yes, the sanctions will stop russia from doing it again. totally. for sure. they're finished with it.
the obtuseness has to be deliberate.

But ... but ... we aren't doing a single thing!
Except that one thing.
But that doesn't matter because it won't work.
I mean, if it boils down to hypertargeting, then we should probably invest more money in the tech sector (or the NSA), but ... I don't know, maybe that's too logical of an approach. Doesn't fit into the histrionic narrative.

Any predictions on the Alabama senate race? Is Trump juju real?
When Trump's "approve" polls were running in the mid 30s, they didn't matter. They stabilize a little higher, so now they do. Cool.
The Trump admin response to Russian interference in the election has been nonexistant. Argue about the efficacyor wisdom of sanctions, sure, but the sanctions were initiated by Congress with veto-proof majorities and thus only grudgingly signed off on by Trump. The only discernible response to ****ery with dozens of state election systems is a bogus voter fraud initiative. I think that saying that the response has been tepid is fair.

Holy presumption, Batman.
Can we just first dispose of the obvious; approval ratings mean **** virtually any direction they are spun.
