Players like Acuna who don't have the big signing bonus aren't too difficult to extend for a couple of years as long as you don't really low ball them. And with his age they can still hit FA before they are 30. I expect the Braves to sign him to a deal that buys out 2 years of FA at some point as long as he doesn't bust.

Players like Heyward, Machado and Harper were all 1st round draft picks too with Heyward being drafted the latest at #7.

Acuna signed for 100K. Not that he won't ultimately try to bet on himself but I feel he would be more open to such a deal if the Braves approach him in a couple of years about it.

Also don't think he'll be as productive as those 3 in his pre-arb years. Heyward generated 13.3 WAR in those years, Machado 16.7 and Harper 19.4.

Maybe or maybe not. Two of those were defensive standouts and one had a season for the ages that he likely won't have again. I think Acuna has 10+ WAR by the time he hits arby though.

You guys are overrating Yelich. Really good player, but not a star. He's basically a young Nick Markakis. He may get 25M annually on the open market, but he's not worth that over 6-8 years.
