To my eye, he looks a bit better at the plate than he did last year. But the performance just ain't there. My guess is he only has 2 or 3 weeks to turn it around. The way things work with the Braves Fredi won't be the one making that decision. It will be taken out of his hands.
agree, on both counts. Exception might be if we're running away with the division with him in there; they might be reluctant to make a move if we're going good. But I think that's unlikely to happen. And Dan struggling IS likely to happen. They'll make a move. I'm confident. They left him off the playoff roster, they'll leave him off the regular season roster if they think it'll help the team.

I figured they would take a "wait and see" approach to the first month of the season since guys like Minor and Floyd wouldn't be ready yet. Now that the team is about to be full strength, I expect to see some shuffling done with the lineup and pitching staff.

The first set of moves should happen this weekend or Monday.

We are in first. Resign yourself to the fact Uggla will be the starting 2nd baseman of the Atl Braves until hiis contract is up. We can't move him and we won't eat the money.

Uggla had a worse April this year than last (and last year worse than the year before). He isn't getting better. It isn't happening. Dump him. Bench him. Promote him to hitting coach. Just get him out of the lineup.

For what it is worth, BJ had a BETTER April this year than last. He improved. That's something we aren't seeing from Dan.

Padres need a 2B. I would see if they want Uggla, Varvaro, and Schafer for Vincent and cash (even if only a couple hundred thousand).

    Call up Stella and Cunningham/Lipka.

I've been a advocate for Uggla for a while, but he just doesn't help this team at all. He doesn't. I think it's time to either apply Pastor long-term into his spot or put LaStella there.

    Heyward RF
    LaStella 2B
    Freeman 1B
    JUP LF
    Gattis C
    CJoh 3B
    Simba SS
    BJ CF

BJ is hitting better than Heyward. Time for him to find a new spot in the lineup. The offense is a big problem. As we've seen the past two days, the pitching can't keep putting up a big 0 night after night.

What the plunk are you talking about? The dude is terrible, sure, but this is the first time I've included him in a trade proposal.

I still would pull the trigger on a BP for Uggla deal (even if Atlanta had to sweeten the pot, some [for salary relief]).

It would be nice if the Braves could coerce the Yankees to take him on due to their recent spate of injuries.

Actually trading him would be an absolute coup. I don't think the Braves will release him. What other teams need 2B/DH assistance?

Said it before and I'll say it again. Yanks need help with their starting rotation. Uggla might be the piece they're looking for and would be a steal.

Stop with the Phillips BS. Do you want to lose Minor or Heyward because we made a short term move who may not even be better than TLS?

In a perfect world, the Braves would release Uggla and call up TLS. Is that going to happen? No. Why? Because this isn't fantasy baseball. The Braves are not going to eat $20MM+ ...

There is no one that is going to trade for Uggla and take on that contract.
