The problem with Jackson is that he's passe. He's not the hot commodity he was when being personal friends with the late Martin Luther King,Jr., had relevance to the public-at-large. About all most younger Americans know about Martin Luther King, Jr., is that it's a three-day weekend. He keeps saying stuff to keep Jesse Jackson, Inc., going, but no one is really buying.
I think the new brand of leaders are there, but they aren't as vital in the personal sense (they are vitally important, but they lack a certain vitality). They are more buttoned-down, but in their defense, it's harder to be vocal and capture the nation's imagination when you don't have easy targets like Bull Connor (example) around. There's still work to be done, but the targets are more subtle now and call for a different approach.

Just announced that filming of the show with Phil Robertson will resume. Good!
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
The publicity stunt is complete, fake crisis averted.
Now watch DD ratings go through the roof, and Phil Robertson's book that wasn't selling so good, hit NYT bestsellers.
Forever Fredi
Time to go on facebook and read all the naivete how A&E reversed their decision because millions of righteous Christians stood up against them and demanded Robertson stay.

Today in 2013, the reinstatement of a reality-TV star who raged about "anuses" and "drunks" was portrayed as a victory for Christianity.

Stunt? I hope you really don't believe that Sav. The robertsons aren't talentless, media whores that need a tv show. They have money and careers.
The gladd outrage was no stunt. Cracker Barrel was no stunt. The only losers in the situation would had been A&e. The Robertsons didn't need the show, they would had been fine.
CrimsonCowboy (12-27-2013)
I posted on page 5 that it was a PR shock stunt, I think this move by A&E confirms that was the case.
"Yeah, he only has a Master's Degree. Really? So do I...
Oh yeah, I forgot. He dared to have an opinion that doesn't agree with liberal groupthink. Oh and once again really? So do I... If you think I'm a Lib, ask the actual libs on this board..."
Could have fooled me. The arrogance overflows.

And apparently I did....and the next time you're looking for REAL arrogance check out some talk radio or perhaps the other usual suspects of the far right. They have the otherwise good conservatives of this country so bamboozled they really believe the TEA party is made up of people who could really lead this country anywhere. And seriously, ask the Libs how many of their meetings I get invited to, or just go back and read the rest of this one thread. See what else I've had to say on this matter, if you dare.

I think it should be noted that he does not have a degree in journalism, literature, creative writing, OR philosophy, so the degree he does have has very little to do with his book (or his (in)ability to write one).
Dalyn, am I a Lib??? Oh and is it too much to ask of a Repub these days to get him/her to actually go back and read the contents of ONE thread before he/she passes judgement on one post, made primarily in jest?
