It was pretty clearly going to be 1 of the 4 pitchers on the 40 man who weren't with the MLB team right now (McCreery, Gohara, Sanchez, Parsons).
The plus side is the Braves didn't lose anyone with this move. The huge negative is this means Gohara isn't going to be a factor at all in 2018. Having him as a monster LHP out of the BP could have been very useful.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
Gohara was already on the MiLB disabled list. Promoting him and moving him to the MLB 60 day DL was simply a way to keep every pitcher currently on the roster at the expense of allowing Gohara to accrue MLB service time, but still be under a full year...he is still controlled for 6 more seasons.
There's no ulterior motive here other than basic roster manipulation with regards to player control.
Bowman had suggested Parsons but I thought they might use the 60-day DL again as I said yesterday. Hopefully Viz comes back at his best.
Will the Braves impose restrictions on a Gohara return to the big club?? Weight limit for example or conditioning??
Gohara has been pretty bad in relief and no real reason to expect he was going to be on active roster. So no problem there.
Not an AA favorite, I don’t think.
