How's that whole "the Braves will never be a contender in 2018" narrative working out for you?

Pretty good since I’m a Braves fan

They still haven’t won anything yet, they have a ton of holes. They are playing fairly well and are in a pretty poor division so they may have a chance to make the playoffs and then get bounced

    There. Happy?

    Agree to a point

He might be a part of a trade for an Ace but I don’t think the centerpiece

The NL East will likely have three teams with winning records when all is said and done. Hardly a poor division. The NL as a whole is tightly bunched together this year.

The NL playoffs have the potential to really be a madhouse this year due to the 2nd wild card. What's crazy is it's a bunch of good not great teams (at the most), and the arguably most talented team when healthy (even without Corey Seager) is going to have to fight to the death to go.

It's mildly plausible 4 one game playoffs will be needed and a tiebreaker game or two for the division, too.

Even if it lives up to what it could be, the NL winner will be mincemeat for the AL winner this year.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Dodgers are actually pretty good if they make it to the World Series. Other than them, I think we have as good of a chance as anyone to make it in the NL because all the other teams are just "good".

BP has our chances of winning the WS at 4%!

I still say Astros. The Sox have been incredible, but the Astros’ pitching is out-of-this-world good.

I'm thinking that, just maybe, giving Machado $35M-$40M per year isn't the best way to fill out a complete roster with that limited payroll.

Oh yeah, and giving a single player 30% of the payroll is also proven to always be a bad idea.
Can save 11 mil by moving Julio but even with that, and even if payroll is bigger, i dont see them being players for Machado or Harper given there's multiple holes to fill.

2 catchers, another outfielder, BP arm, bench IF bat, maybe a SP, and leaving some money for a midseason trade as well.

Considering where the Braves were the previous 3 years, i'd say making the playoffs and losing in a year where it looked like a 75-80 win season is pretty good.

I'd give Cubs or Dodgers a shot vs the AL winner, but other than that, tough.

This season has been a success. Period.

Attendance is up in the 2nd year of a new park. The importance of that fact can’t be overstated.

Folty and Newk have emerged as rotation mainstays. Acuna and Albies have shown to be legit young stars. AA has shown to be competent at making value additions.
