People realize a person can be racist without actually disliking other races, right? I'm not getting into whether or not Trump is racist, but none of the evidence provided above necessarily refute the idea of him being a racist or having racist tendencies.

Why is the default condition that Trump is a racist? Why do we have to prove that he isn't when its never been proven that he is.

You don't have to prove anything. You choose to unrelentingly lurch to the President's defense at any whisper of race-based criticism. You could just ignore it, safe in your convictions.

As thethe said, the frustration comes from "Trump is a racist" being the default setting. Someone told me it was because of dog whistles he uses.

Take "Make America Great Again". Some people seem to hear that as Make America Great Again, like it used to be when we owned black people. I think most Trump supporters hear Make America Great Again....like it was before Obama/Clinton/the last 4 presidents/Carter or something similar.

Or "Take OUR country back!" The people saying I must be a racist for voting for the man hear Take our country back...from all these brown people! but I hear Take our country back from Obamacare/political correctness/globalism/moral decay.

I don't get it. When Obama said Hope and Change, I just assumed they were vague platitudes. I guess in the current political environment I should have heard it as Hope Whitey dies! or Change the color of the White House! I am sure some people did hear that. That makes them no more or less stupid, hateful, and bigoted than those doing the same thing on the other side today.

Unemployment claims fall to lowest level in 43 years, despite hurricanes

The total number of laid-off workers receiving unemployment benefits fell to 1.89 million at the end of September, the Department of Labor reported Thursday, the lowest such mark in nearly 44 years.

And new claims for unemployment benefits dropped 15,000 to 243,000 in the first full week of October, according to the agency, as the job market bounces back from hurricane damage even faster than forecasters expected.

Low new jobless claims are a good sign. They indicate that layoffs are rare, and accordingly that job creation is strong.

Unemployment benefits are available for up to 26 weeks in most states. Fewer people are now receiving benefits of all duration than at any time since December of 1973, when the total workforce was much smaller. That is a reflection of the strength of the jobs market, and the availability of new positions for laid-off workers.

Pretty sure people have been calling him racist since the Birther thing. He pretty much became the figurehead for that. That was more than 2 years ago.

What is the 25th amendment — and why are people talking about it?

The amendment is back in the spotlight today because of a Vanity Fair article that reports then-adviser Steve Bannon told President Trump that he shouldn't be worried about impeachment.

Rather, Bannon reportedly said, Trump should be worried about the 25th amendment.

To which Trump reportedly responded: “What’s that?”
    ....
According to Vanity Fair, Bannon thinks Trump has about a 30 percent chance of finishing his term — and believes that other cabinet members might end Trump’s term prematurely.

Started the whole thing. Just one of many examples in HRC past that has shown she is a racist.

    This is so great.

Inner thoughts are assumed by the left and the assumption is all bad for Conservatives and all good for Liberals. Its a great scheme.

We will hear crickets about this one.

    Also:

Trump Plaza loses appeal of discrimination penalty

[...] many of those who testified for the Division of Gaming Enforcement were current employees who were risking their jobs by testifying against their employer.

'In our view, the transcript fairly reeks of Trump Plaza's guilt,' the judges said.
Trump Hit With Race Suit, Blacks: Don Dealt Us Out Of Casino Jobs

But the riverboat was hit with a lawsuit last month that charges Trump failed to hire a promised number of minorities, women and Gary residents out of 1,675 casino jobs. The suit also alleged that he hasn't honored his commitments to steer sufficient contracts to minority-owned businesses in Gary [...] Hatcher, the first black mayor in Gary's history, charges that most of the minorities Trump has hired were given service jobs such as janitors or valets. He says nonminorities were much more likely to land plum gambling posts such as dealers, managers or croupiers.
    And, of course, this gem:

Trump disparaged his black casino employees as “lazy” in vividly bigoted terms, according to a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, a former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino.

“And isn’t it funny. I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it,” O’Donnell recalled Trump saying. “The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”

“I think the guy is lazy,” Trump said of a black employee, according to O’Donnell. “And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.”
Plus he opened his Presidential campaign with the blanket aspersion that Mexicans are rapists ...

But you know what: I don't really care if President Trump, in his heart-of-hearts, is "racist"; what counts is he's cynically stirring up a frothing pot of specifically pro-white nationalist fervor, which—while by no means the entirety of his base—is a pretty vocal and festering component thereof.

She did, and I called her out on it then.

And she is racist, in her own cynical and misguided way. Lest we forget: she had mansion slaves, and she thought she was doing them a favor.

I hear about Trump birtherism once a week from the lefties on this board... but they gladly pulled the lever for HRC (D)

I don't know what to tell you except: let it go. I never found it worthwhile to argue President Obama's citizenship, so I didn't; if you find claims of President Trump's racism equally preposterous—or even just woefully hypocritical—maybe it's not worth it.

    Ok, I'll play.

There are two things that connect Hillary Clinton to birtherism. One was a campaign strategy memo from one of her pollsters which suggested the prospect of playing up Obamas "lack of American roots." ****ty, yes, but the same memo specifically discounted using the nativity thing. Second was state-level campaign volunteers who, yes, circulated email chains with birther stuff in a late and desperate rear-guard action. Also supremely ****ty.

Donald Trump made it a personal cause celebe for years, tweeting about it dozens if not hundreds of times. If you don't see the difference, I'm not really sure what to tell you.

I pulled the lever, grudgingly, for Hillary Clinton in the general election. I think that certain positions of hers years ago on law enforcement were race-baiting. I think that Bill's general tough-on-crime, pro-capital punishment Arkansas years were reprehensible. I think that her general third-way centrist economic policies are disproportionately damaging to people of color, to say nothing of her foreign policy.

To try to equate that to Trump, whose entire political persona is predicated on stoking white grievance, is a stretch.

    I didn't equate it.

I said who started it... the beloved HRC.

Trump when on about it as a private citizen.

HRC pushed it as a Presidential candidate.
