Agreed. Sign me up. It’s Lindor ffs. Plus between he and Acuña we’d watch the Cards head explode at our style of playing ball

I would offer same package with a minor sweetener for Sale and Bogaerts with Sox paying Sales deferred money or no sweetener for Price and Bogaerts plus money.

That wasn't the deal nsacpi offered. Of the choices he laid out, it would more likely be a Swanson, Pache, and either Wright or Muller trade. I probably like Waters as much as anyone, but I would much prefer the Braves trade him instead of Pache.

Some pundits have Waters as the first to ML but those same pundits have Pache as the best prospect. What does that mean? Does Waters have a better bat or Pache a better glove? Who knows. But I do see the possibility of one of them becoming a BIG trade chip.

If it’s Swanson, Pache, and Wright then I probably balk. But it’s still really tempting to add Lindor to this team.

I'm guessing it would be more but I do that all day.

If Dodgers want Lindor I doubt we can match their offer.

They are also rumored for Rendon.

Eh. I am a Swanson fan. So I would rather just keep our prospects and Swanson

Not many options that Swanson can be traded for with no one else in the system but at the same time he will be getting more expensive and has yet to take the forward step.

I'd still do that trade easily.

If they offer Seager then you're likely right. I don't know that the Dodgers would do that though. Seager was a 6 win player pre-injury and was at 3.3 wins in 133 games this year. They each have the same amount of control, so it doesn't seem like much value is gained.

I like Swanson and was very encouraged by his 2019, but he can't seem to stay healthy.

Maybe extend the trade and get Brad Hand as well?

From the Indians' perspective I think the plan would be to extend the window of contention by trading Lindor for a group of players with a lot of years of contractual control left.

Have we already reached the point in the off season where folks are tossing around ideas completely out of character for the Braves FO?

    It’s only been a week...

I get that, I just don't think it makes sense from the Dodgers perspective. The upgrade from Seager to Lindor doesn't seem big enough to warrant what it will cost to acquire Lindor.

I just don't know who the Indians will find a better fit than than us that has an immediate need for Lindor and also has good, young controllable, players that will help the Indians compete in 2020. Maybe the Reds if they come off Nick Senzel or Luis Castillo?

I doubt they trade him anyways. Kluber seems the likeliest of players to be traded if they can find someone willing to value him like an ace.

Funny you mention the Reds. I've thought for a while that they might be good trade partners for us, with both Senzel and Castillo at the top of my list of players I would like to bring back. If we bring in Senzel, we get a cheap young third baseman (who can also play outfield). Obviously it would cost a lot to land him.

Finding a trade that suitably addresses one of the Braves three major offensive holes with a player who makes the minimum or something relatively close drastically alters that Braves payroll bind.

I have trouble coming up with an offseason scenario that produces a deep lineup and gives them financial flexibility to do things with the rotation and bullpen without finding such a move.

I think a trade that moves Inciarte and prospects for someone like Senzel, or possibly Merrifield would open everything up.

that would give you about 52 million to address the other two offensive holes and that lets you sign a Grandal and an Ozuna or Garcia and do something substantial in the rotation and leave some money for a reliever or two.
