Well, I for one am just glad that we can continue to get trashed by the media for having crappy fans because absolutely NO ONE is going to games in 2015 according to this board. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Happy Holidays?

It's worth considering that the deal hasn't been announced yet. It's possible the composition of the return could change.

Wow...remember when we honestly thought we could lure David Ross back here to be Jon Lester's personal catcher?

    My, how things have changed.

For some reason this facetious optimism made me chuckle.

Obviously things change over the course of a year, but that sounds okay. Not great, but a realistic return for a 1 year rental.
I mean, since that list was published #3 blew out his arm and #6 was turrible. If anything this list is even more of a downer than the BA list, since Law seems to be lower on the one dude who actually had a good year (Jace Peterson).

We got 3 top 10ish prospects from one of the better farms in the league. The names aren't going to wow most of you, but that's a fairly decent haul for a 1 yr rental.

It's a solid trade. Obviously you wish we'd have gotten the top 20 overall prospect that it was rumored we were looking for, but I like this deal over other deals I've heard mentioned. It doesn't have the wow factor making you feel like we fleeced them, but it's good value, imo.

It doesn't take the media to point out crappy fans. All you have to do is look at some of the jerk-offs who post here.

Umm, no it's not. This moves makes the team terrible for 2015 AND didn't provide anyone that will realistically impact the roster...ever.

At least Miller will sit in the middle of the rotation for 4 years. Fried is going to spend all of 2015 recovering from TJ, and the other guys will be Phil Gosselin and Tyler Pastornicky.

This is terrible, and no spin makes it any better. We just ate the **** end of a terrible Murph trade proposal in exchange for the most valuable trade chip available.

Seems a little like both. Fried and the 2 Petersons have a fair amount of value. We don't know who else was available, but it isn't like we got back organizational fillers here.

We all laugh at him, but this time the Braves are on the **** end of a Murph trade...
Its a one year rental. What was everyone expecting?

Speaking of payroll, where will the Braves' payroll end up? Hart and Co. specifically said that the payroll wouldn't drop below the $112 million (or so) mark from 2014. I guess we are at about $88 million now?

We haven't announced the 2 year 30 million dollar Harang deal yet, and the lifetime contract that pays $9 million annually in dollars with a 8% escalator clause based on inflation of contracts per year, and an unlimited supply at the clubhouse buffet for Laird.

The return may be reasonable but if the goal is to rebuild the farm spending money on a 31 year old rf when we could have gotten several more serviceable shorter term options for less is astonishing.
