    Minor League Free Agents

I linked BA's list of minor league free agents over on the off-season moves thread, but I figure there might be enough interest to justify a stand-alone thread. There are usually a handful of decent players on this list, and we're in as good as a position as any to trawl the depths for hidden treasure.

As I noted on the other thread, the name that immediately stands out is Alex Torres, the former Padres and Mets lefty. Solid major league numbers out of the pen, albeit with a bit too many walks.

    (1) Bring back Hessman!

    (2) I can remember when Matt Purke was projected as the top HS LHP in the 2009 draft. Donavan Tate (#3 overall pick in 2009) was the second coming of George Lombard, but hasn't reached George's level of performance.

There is literally no job 50 won't support giving to Hessman. If it was up to 50, Hessman would be moderating the next GOP debate.

Ix-nay on the oderating-may. He's over 35. He should be the front-runner (in the party of his choice)!
