If this miracle does happen and that player is traded, sure Justin might be a little disappointed. However the instant morale boost from the other 23 players would be amazing.

Would anyone here trade BJ, Uggla(the cash to cover his 2015 salary), and Chris Johnson for Verlander?

I think just the opposite. I would think Justin carries the stress of watching his brother suck up the place.

If the Braves don't make the playoffs or even if they do and lose the first game, I can se them cleaning house. Keep Freeman, Heyward, Simmons, J Upton, Wood, Teheran and the studs in the minors. Everybody else can go.

Buerhle and Dickey for BJ? They are currently on waivers by Blue Jays.

I proposed a Dickey for Upton trade. I think retunring to the NL would be good for Dickey. The money though greatly favors the Braves. Same thing with Buerhle. I'd do BJ and some prospects for those 2.

Our rotation for the rest of the year would be

    Santana
    Julio
    Wood
    Dickey
    Buerhle
    Minor

Giving sporadic rests to Wood and Minor. And then going with the hottest group come post season.

Crazy how much disrespect Harang gets. All he does is give us a great chance to win nearly every time he pitches.

A chance to win is also a chance to lose. Sunday he was fairly beaten soundly.

What a terrible argument. Even the greatest aces get beaten soundly at times... what exactly are you accomplishing here? If you can't see that Harang has been a great addition you are showing more and more why people consistently think you have no idea what you're talking about.

For the peanuts Harang is being paid, and the timing of his signing...the man has been a godsend for this team. One of the best FA signings in Wren's tenure as GM. Anyone who can't see that is a fool. Period.

Harang is having a 2 win season. At the going rate of $6M/win that's a $12M season. We are paying him $1M. So a $11M surplus from signing Harang. That's a nice piece of business.

I doubt there's another team who wouldn't take Harang's production for the money.

Who doesn't see that? I don't get it.
I don't want to count on him, and definitely not for next year.

You don't see the peanuts because Harang ate them.

When Wren told Harang before signing, "We can only afford to pay you peanuts" Aaron thought he literally meant peanuts and he had never been happier.

Are you sure Laird didn't beat him to the peanuts?

Exactly. When you see the lineup and see Tehran or Wood, you are like "ok ok cool not bad".
You see Harang and it's like, " Man damn ". He's just boring to me and I don't like seeing him pitch. The production for his price has been there though.

Little known-fact: Laird has a team option for a third year where he's paid entirely in cheese.

Harang has been so good that he's already hit his performance inventive markers. Here's our first bonus payment.
