Harry Reid comes out in support of Ryan.
Will that play with the Freedom Caucus ?

I've been calling Paul Ryan an ambitious lightweight for over 10 years.
I don't have to mock (R) ability to govern.
Anymore than point out the nose on your face
How is he going to coral the Freedom Caucus and/or govern without the help of Nancy Pelosi ?
Have you ever watched him speak in an un rehearsed give and take ?
I have in person. I've seen the Dems in our company ask some tough questions, never falter, but never gave in either. His voice and reason is something to behold but if you already don't like him because of (R) besides his name, then what you stated is just pure partisan bunk.
here, Hawk will even approve of the sources

Thin skin will not serve him well in a position of authority.
When I said unrehearsed give and take I was not talking about a Q&A at the local diner.
I disagree with him -- starting on his view of government , the size of government and people making money off of government.
He works 3 days a week and draws $250K + per year of government money
HAs never held a job outside of government
Just for a second take his statement about "family time"
He has repeatedly voted against paid family leave. yet ...
I would say AA your fondness for Rep Ryan is based on the letter behind his name.
What policies of his do you support and where would you disagree with him ?
The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is to make sure he doesn’t get a gun.
I don't know if Paul Ryan will wind up being the dude, but it's pretty hard to spin that the republicans didn't wind up getting the best guy for the job if Ryan actually gets the job. I still have my doubts, but if the pubs can pull this off then damn. It's like Michigan hiring Harbaugh or Bama hiring Saban.
thank you weso1!

Apparently Ryan now has the full support of the majority of the "Freedom Caucus".
Forever Fredi
but not the endorsement. Ryan got 70% where the caucus works on an 80 % level for endorsement. This is not over. For some reason
AA, I've got another friend who has had great conversations with Ryan. She really came away impressed by how down-to-earth he was. But of course to guys like 57, it doesn't matter, all Rs are idiot-devils. His routine gets incredibly old.
AerchAngel (10-22-2015)
' never said he was an idiot devil"
why would you
a) put those words in my mouth
b) why would you refer to another in those terms

LMAO
thinking I am a Republican.
I am no more Republican than I am a Democrat.
I am anti-war
I am anti sending jobs overseas
I am anti military complex
I am anti NeoCons
But Democrats are the most dishonest, flip flopping liars I've ever known. I can't trust them and my dad finally gets it why I despise them. I never seen a bunch of idiots speak when everything they say is a lie, deflate, excuse like crap that comes out of their mouths. My favorite pres all time was Clinton and he did the stuff I mentioned above and more after office, but I still think he is the best in my lifetime and he is a Democrat. But unlike both Dems and Repub rubes on here, I am not going to defend either side, I am going to piss on them and they deserve it.
yeah he is that and then some and not faking it like Hillary or Obama with their fakeness. He is willing to work both sides of the aisle, well Reid and Pelosi won't unless it is absolutely on their terms. That is their theme, their terms only, most of the time terrible ones.

I think Ryan could be an effective speaker. I disagree with his economic ideas—strenuously—but I have nothing bad to say about him personally, other than that he was a surprisingly poor VP candidate.
The thing that gets me about Ryan—and this has as much to do with the current Republican party as it does the man—is that it's galling to hear so much anti-government rhetoric coming for a guy who has quite literally never held a legit private sector job. He's a Randroid who's been on the federal teat since his 20s. He's a career Beltway guy in the employ of a party who says that we should burn it all down. All of the profiles of Ryan describe him as a budget wonk and a policy nerd. Why can't he cop to being what he is?
Go ahead and call him a hypocrite. But he is trying to change the nanny state attitude of American government. You can't do that if you don't work in the establishment you want to change. Democrats are so bent on controlling every aspect of your life without giving anyone any choices on how to live their life.
