I thought JS wouldn't let him be the GM thats why he made so many short sighted moves. Which is it?

Dansby and Albies is the funnest infield duo we have had since peak Giles and Furcal. It’s going to be a fun next five years.

    I haven't made that argument.

But those are two different things.

    LOL...

Hart/Coppy were good GMs because of all the pitching they acquired.

However, Wren gets no credit for acquiring Albies and Acuna.

Highest IQ on the board, and perhaps on all the internet.

Its been made several times. Maybe not by you but certainly Jeff Wren.

So then one has to believe if Wren wasn't fully the GM should we be thanking JS who was really the one who set up the infrastructure to sign Albies/Acuna.

The GM is responsible for player acquisition to support the franchise strategy

The GM is responsible for personal moves on the major league team. That is the updated model for baseball organizations.

Unless what you are saying is Theo Epstein has no involvement in the Cubs player acquisitions.

Mike Montgomery is how I envision Fried's most likely optimistic outcome.

Mr. IQ thinks Fried is TOR though, so we will see who's right.
