I like Wheeler but Hamels for 1 year was the SP i wanted the most, not to mention he can mentor Fried and teach him his wipeout CH. Can offer a QO at the end of the season and not be stuck with a potentially albatross contract. The Braves/Bumgarner rumors scared me as well.

Current payroll is around 132 right now if arb projections are correct, and Braves still need a power bat to bring back JD or replace him.

Newk is the one that needs the change. He still has elite upside if he can develop another pitch. I don't have confidence that will happen, but who knows?

I dont think his market is nuts, re JD's. JD may be waiting for Rendon to sign, so he knows who missed out.

JD's market is probably around 3/75 or if anyone gives him a 4th year, 4/100+.

Whoever misses on Rendon (especially the Nats) will probably overspend and give him the 4th year at that point. Best way to do it imo is to offer 3 years at 23 per with an option for a 4th year or a 6 million dollar buyout which would technically bring it to 25 per.

He was good in 18, meh in 19 and turned into a good bullpen ace. Not really sold on Newk in the rotation.

I definitely will be because I thought that Bundy would thrive in the NL or be no worse than Julio plus he wasn't 18 mil. They better resign Donaldson or sign Rendon.
