Beyond the first round I am hoping for two things:
1) We stay away from high school pitchers in rounds 2 and 3.
2) We go heavy on college pitchers in rounds 4-10.
The above are based on an analysis of our historical yield record for different types of players in different parts of the draft.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
I thought it was a well thought out post.
You basically said that Lewis had a reasonably high floor but a limited ceiling. At #5 you said that Lewis's floor would be a waste and of limited value so you had rather swing for the fences with Beck's higher ceiling.
Maybe you are higher on Lewis now than you were.
Looks like the Twins might cut a deal with Lewis.
Interesting scenario.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
As I've seen more info, I am higher on Lewis' ceiling, and lower on Beck's and Adell's risks. Therefore, I prefer Lewis to both.
My preference at 5 (assuming Greene is gone) is Wright/Lewis/Gore, with a pretty big gap between Lewis and Gore.
If the Braves are going under slot, give me Beck/Adell/Baz in no particular order over Pratto/Hiura/Haseley, though I prefer Haseley to the other 2. If they go under slot, they better get another 50 or high 45 FV at 41, or it was pointless to skip BPA at 5.
Reading through all the publicly available info, I don't have a strong preference between Wright and Lewis. Would be very happy to get either at 5. Austin Beck scares me.
Fangraphs says Lewis is represented by Boras, and we already know Gore is.
If Lewis goes to the Twins, how does that shake things up? How far does McKay fall? Is McKay someone we would take? I think I'd rather have Wright.
Given the choice between the three, I probably go:
1) Wright
2) Beck underslot
3) McKay
Final BA mock has Lewis going 1. Then Greene, Gore, McKay then us passing on wright for Austin Beck.
