My Christmas gift to the forum will be to allow the community to vote off a user for 2 weeks. Niners vs. HEYWARD.

Can I vote twice?

Some posters have needed the board to rationalize that deal; some have needed it to grieve over that deal. I really don't think either group is "ruining" the board for the other group.
Indeed, I find it pretty base (not to mention fairly presumptuous and condescending) to suggest—as some posters have—that those with grievances are somehow messing everything up for those who insist on rationalizations.

Might be worse in a couple days if we trade Justin and don't get a king's ransom in return.

Yes. I'll find the link.... I've been through 20 pages of trade rumors all over the net.
According to CBS sports:
The Mariners and Dodgers were close to a deal that would have sent outfielder Matt Kemp to Seattle before the Dodgers insisted on receiving either Taijuan Walker or James Paxton in the trade, the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
This turn of events reportedly happened before the Mariners brought Nelson Cruz into the fold, making it seem less likely that the team would acquiesce to the Dodgers' demands at this point. However, the Mariners' one big need heading into the Winter Meetings remains run-producing right fielder who can bat right-handed, and if they ultimately don't wind up signing Melky Cabrera, a Kemp trade could conceivably end up back on the table at some point this offseason.

For me it's the whining. I'm assuming most everyone that posts here are adults. So why does everyone act so immature when something doesn't go their way? I understand not liking it when one of your favorite players gets traded. I wasn't happy when Murphy was traded but as an 8 year old kid I think I handled it better than some people handle the trading away of Heyward. One of the first posts I read after the trade was someone posting they can no longer support this organization. Really? Heyward has always had great potential but hasn't lived up to it yet. Markakis should be able to put up similar numbers. I'm disappointed he didn't develop into a superstar but as of yet he hasn't. We weren't trading away someone that was irreplaceable.
That being said, it's just not what people have posted about Heyward that annoys me. It's the mood of the board. Just not a fan of whining, maybe message boards just aren't meant for me anymore. I don't know.
I think that would fit in with my description of pissing them off. Not sure Seattle would give us Walker. We might have better luck with other clubs. And my reaction is I would love to have Walker, but we're not solving any offensive problems with that. So I'd need to see some more trades where we get offensive value back.
Points on all sides of the argument mentality that has all but taken over.
1) I'm not willing to concede that all posters are adults.
2) Clearly, many of them are fairly new to this, as opposed to those of us scarred by the insults dished out by the moderator himself on a board that shall not be named. This is kid stuff, people.
3) This board has grown quickly and, with that, growing pains. Those who leave normally come back if they have enjoyed he give and take for the most part.
4) My New Year's resolution is to provide this sucker with some content. The 1966 project will lead off and hopefully take us all the way to spring training. I have already laid groundwork for a follow-up on the Braves' biggest disaster in the history of the draft. It won't be as massive, but it sure as hell shocked me. I also am looking to write a piece on the worst day in Braves history -- and no, it's not a bad trade.
The point being is this board needs to be more imformative, not combative.
