Yeah the bottom of the ninth there was a downer. Agreed, Uggla has to give us something. Still, biggest takeaway from today is we didn't burn our pen. Thanks, Garcia. Loe, time to go.

Just want to point out that the Mets are in a virtual tie for the 10th/11th spot in the draft with the Phillies. This is important because if they finish with the 11th worst record then they dont get a protected draft pick. The Mets are a good bet to make a big FA signing this offseason so this one loss could cause them to lose their a top 11 draft pick.
I am not one of the Fredi bashers as a rule but I certainlydont understand some of his decisions. I know Walden,s injury has us at a bit short in the pen but why not have let Carpenter, Garcia, Varvaro share the load today with tomorrow being an off day.
Fredi and Wren have to be aware of our road record and then Selig has already given the AL home field in the Series.
Dont overlook the Dodgers, Fredi.
Even with a 15 game lead, every win is a treasure.
Are we really getting upset about someone who's not even going to be on the playoff roster and the only reason he started today was because Garcia had been used and they wanted to give Teheran more rest, which that in itself benefits the Braves come playoff time. Heaven forbid they threw one game away with a 15 game lead and a shoe in for the post season. Good grief.

Heck, we were reasonably competitive in this game even with a scrub lineup and Flotsam and Jetsam on the mound.

Braves are going to promote right-hander David Hale from the minor leagues.

"IT'S A DISAPPOINTMENT. I BATTLED OUT THERE AND GAVE EVERYTHING I HAD, BUT I FELL SHORT TODAY." - KAMERON LOE
That's why there is absolutely zero reason for him to be with this club next year. It's not his eyes it's approach at the plate. When you are trying to pull everything your going to have years where you have a terrible batting average. I know it's something that will affect next year but Uggla should not be blocking La Stella at 2b come 2014. Whatever we have to do to get rid of dan we've got to do it. Thankfully BJ is coming around but we've had 2 1/2 years of very poor production from Uggla. If their are runners on base with 2 outs it's almost a lock he won't drive them in. I'm not sure what Dan's mindset is at the plate but he's not making adjustments and it seems like he doesn't want to. It's like he's content with hitting .200 as long as his HR numbers look good.
Wednesday Day game? Lots of the peeps out there were kids from school or camps.
And the other 19k or so fans that went tot he game probably don't scrutinize the difference between a 15 game lead and homefield advantage like we do here.
Doubt there were many fans in the stands saying "Damnit Fredi! We're trying to get homefield and you're playing scrubs!"
Forever Fredi
Me and three buddies drove 5 hrs round trip for the game. Sat second row right behind the Braves dugout. Had a GREAT time. We knew going down there it was a throw away game based on Freddie's comments after the Tuesday win. I totally agree with what he did. You have to gives guys extra time off this time of year- especially with the playoffs coming. And yes, the homefield advantage will be ultra-important for us, but you still have to have these breaks. And that said, we still had a (small) chance to win yesterday anyway.
By the way, did I mention hanging out with the Braves Girls is all that and a bag of chips?
