Camargo gets brought up a lot lately as a trade fodder option. Anyone with a guess at his surplus value? I'm just curious.
Go get him!

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Kinda disagree here. You are taking our 2 best pitching prospects, yes... the best case and probably most likely scenario is that 1 or both guys becomes a MLB caliber 3,4, or 5 with an outside shot at one becoming a 1 or 2. A lot of question marks there. Or you can trade both of them for a no doubt for sure ace/1. Yes he may have had some injury issues but they are pretty freak things... viral infection, strained ligament in an index finger... sore hammy. Nothing really too concerning. Then you consider he's not a FA until 2022 and he's only 26... I don't know how anyone would not trade Anderson and Wright for him.
I wouldn't be on board if we were still 1 or 2 years away but if we could add a legit ace and maybe 1 or 2 more really good pen arms, this team can easily compete with LA IMO

I'd give the Rockies a call and kick the tires on Jon Gray
Apparently Sherman predicts the Mets will trade Wheeler to the Braves, Brewers, Twins, or "someone not the Yankees."
Then John Harper speculates a Wheeler deal to the Braves could look like Allard and Wentz or Muller
I would take that deal in a heart beat.

Thor is a legit 1/2, and would easily be the best pitcher in the Braves entire organization. If AA can figure out how to keep him healthy, unlike the Mets with arguably the worst medical staff in the game, he would be worth a significant price.
Having said that, I doubt Anderson plus Wright is even a top 5 offer if the Mets took bids on Thor.
His peripherals have been pretty good. He's on pace for a 4-5 win season. That's more than just potential. Plus, if we want to resign him, we probably have a decent shot considering he's a local kid. Wheeler would automatically be the best pitcher on the team with the exception of Soroka possibly... even then, I'd put Wheeler on top just because he's been in the show longer and has the experience factor.

I definitely like the idea of wheeler but hopefully we are careful about over paying for half a year pitcher. Sometimes you need to save those bullets for better trades.
Coppy
Wheeler is a clear step down from Thor, but he’s also going to cost a small fraction of Thor’s price. Therefore he is far more likely to be a solid value addition.
Swinging a deal for Thor would probably require the Mets to overvalue a lot of the Braves spare parts. Perhaps something centers around selling Riley as a future star at 3b because the Mets are dumb and fooled by the early HRs and “he always gets better at every level” narrative.
