    Tim Tebow to pursue baseball

Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports that former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is "actively pursuing a career in professional baseball" and plans to hold a workout for MLB teams later this month.
Tebow couldn't cut it in the NFL and is currently a broadcaster, so now he's trying to pick up a sport that he hasn't played since he was a junior in high school more than a decade ago. Good luck with that. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal confirms the report and adds that Tebow has been working with former major league catcher Chad Moeller in preparation for being an outfielder. "This may sound like a publicity stunt, but nothing could be further from the truth," said Brodie Van Wagenen of CAA. "I have seen Tim’s workouts, and people inside and outside the industry – scouts, executives, players and fans – will be impressed by his talent." Tebow, who turns 29 on Sunday, was an All-State baseball player at Nease High School in Florida and drew attention from baseball scouts before pursuing football. This story will naturally grab headlines, but he faces some long odds.

Will he kneel down at home plate if he hits a home run?

Should go to Anaheim so he can have 'assistance' like Angels in the Outfield.

I think he'll go Indy league. I don't think an actual major league team will wanna waste time on him

He's 29 and hasn't played baseball in years. Maybe he will sign with the Dodgers for big money and the Braves can trade for him to play 3B (or LF, if necessary).

I've never understand why anyone had issues with him kneeling.

Best of luck to him going forward.

I don't think anyone ever had real issues with it, or anyone was mad at him for it. it was his overall "holy" personality that was more funny than anything. like tebow-ing wasn't a criticism of him.

I wish Tebow would pursue a career in going the **** away. I'm sick of hearing about this loser. He couldn't hack it in the NFL. He's a bum.

Yeah, not sure why people have such a problem with him. He's done more in his life than most. If he was that bad of a player, then he won those college championships with pure will. Either way, I think people have "He's a better man than I am, so I hate him" syndrome. Never in all of my life have I heard so many bad comments about a guy that's been nothing but nice. I'm pretty sure 95% of the men on this planet have NO business commenting on him. I say men, because men seem to be the only ones that have a problem with him. Will he succeed at baseball....ha...very doubtful. I sure won't make fun of him, because he has a dream of playing a pro sport. In a sport that gave a worthless piece of crap like Olivera 60 million dollars (a guy that had never played a DAY in MLB), I have no problem with giving him a "chance".

It's the media coverage that's the reason he gets hate.

I've never understood that either. Lots of great college (not good pro) players drafted each year that don't make it and lots of Christains in the sport. Why they latched onto him...who knows. Same thing has happened with Manziel (for other reasons than football of course). It's like why do I care which bar he came out of this week and what he said drunk lol.

With Tebow it was first because he won 2 national titles or whatever it was and that he was more open about it. He showcased it more during games with the kneeling and the scriptures on the eye black. Not that that is wrong but that does draw attention. And the media as a whole sucks.

He has that type of personality in everything he does. He was that intense about football also. I don't know why that's considered calling attention to it, when he's that way about everything he does. All kinds of guys have visible tattoos of scripture among all kinds of different things. I see half the football teams (from both sides) meet in the middle of the field kneel and pray right after the game. That's visible and it doesn't seem to bother anyone and it's never mentioned. Plenty of players thank God in interviews after games on TV. I just don't see any difference. I get tired of hearing about him also (although I like him fine), but I would imagine he doesn't like/want the constant coverage either.

Maybe because it's out of the norm? If he had just pointed to the sky I doubt it would be talked about it all. Same way if he played on a no name team or never won anything. It was just a combination and of course the media being the media.
