Most QBs have great receiving talents around them. Peyton had Harrison and Wayne and Thomas. Brees had Graham and a stable of talent around him, Rodgers has had immense talent around him, Roethlisberger has immense talent around him. What separates the greats from the not greats is basically how they utilize those talents. Arguably the worst QB in the NFL was Nick Foles. He played on a team with Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt (not that Britt is amazing, but he's a solid receiver)

Ryan was great for many years without Julio. He was basically an average QB this year. Until it really becomes a trend I'm gonna assume it won't be the norm.

FWIW even well below norm Ryan had 4 4QC and 4 GWD. Which if you don't know that means in 4 of our 8 wins, we were behind and he lead us to victory in the 4th quarter.

Ryan needs to get back to his old level, and when we started out the season he was basically there. He was a big reason we missed out on the playoffs. But he's also a big reason we were in the mix. His 4 drives going into this week was tied for 1st in the NFL, same with comebacks. Does it mean much? no because the company he's in aren't amazing QBs. But it's something to ponder before you spew your ignorant hate.

When Ryan didn't have Julio, he still had an amazingly old and productive TG, and of course a prime Roddy White.

Tony Gonzalez was 33 when he joined Atlanta. Roddy you have a point on, but look at what Roddy did before Ryan. He had one respectable season. Ryan came along and he got 4 probowls and an All-Pro nomination. Is that 100% because of Ryan? Nope.

Ryan also had a successful season against the toughest defensive schedule, Roddy was hobbled all season, Julio only played 5 games before going down all season, Tony was ancient and ineffective, and he made Harry Douglas a 1000 yard receiver.

So again, don't come in super ignorant.

We have to go OT with the #1 pick. I hope Tunsil is the pick.

Tomsula is canned. In fairness to him he was in way over his head and should have never been hired to begin with. Still think Baalke should have been fired too along with every single coach.

Baalke should be canned. But Niners ownership is the problem.

Absolutely. This team will be a mess until a new owner is brought in who is not anyway related to the Yorks.

Vikings win the NFC north. Their prize is a home meeting against Seattle who beat them in Minneapolis by 31 a month ago.

JEEZ. I figured we'd be sitting right outside the top 10. That hurts.

I truly think if the Lions had beaten the Packers in the Hail Mary game we would have made the playoffs.

Of course, we lost the next week against the Rams... but we were so flat and looked like we didn't care out there. Had we beaten GB, I'm guessing it would have been a different outcome.

9-7 would have gotten us in over the Pack

Are you counting the game the referees game to Seattle too?

    Nope...

We really got screwed hard twice.

Plus should have easily defeated SD opening week after jumping out to a 21-3 lead... but nobody to blame there but ourselves

The AFC looks really wide open this year. Other than Houston, I could see any of those teams making it to the Super Bowl. And while Carolina is 15-1, Seattle's a dangerous team. Should be an interesting postseason.

Could be exciting playoffs. 5 of the 6 NFC teams are playing well at the moment (everyone but GB). AFC seems a bit weaker, imo, but really a toss up between NE, Pit, KC, Cincy, and Denver. Though, I don't have a ton of faith in KC/Den because of the QBs.

It would be hard to pick the NFC, but you would think it may come down to Carolina/Seattle.

My money is still on Arizona at the moment... But could easily see Carolina/Seattle taking it
