The K and BB rates are per 9 innings. For Melancon and Martin, the K rates are up from their previous work this season and other recent seasons. Greene's K rate is down (not by a lot) from earlier this season with the Tigres.

Ok. you expressed them as percentages, which was misleading. Thought there must be something going on since you said 12% K rates were really good.

    We are simpatico now.

Thank you Paul Revere, but this reactionary alarmist post proved just as bad as similar predictions by the same person.

You don't want an injured, old, and declining reliever for big money?

Now that we know he was sitting in FL eating Hot Pockets I'm glad the Braves didn't give him a single penny.

God I love it when poorly thought out definitive statements or poorly thought out speculation comes back to bite people. Watching the ensuing reactions is hilarious.

Way safer to just meme everything without making many predictions.

Its one of the reasons why I'm able to sustain a much higher WPAA (weighted posts above average) than my xWPAA says I should. I expect some regression, but I'm like the Julio of posting.

xWOBA since the deadline (min 50 PAs):

    1 Luke Jackson 20.275 for 76 0.267
    2 Mark Melancon 19.650 for 69 0.285
    3 Dallas Keuchel 57.090 for 200 0.288
    4 Chris Martin 18.102 for 61 0.297
    5 Mike Foltynewicz 56.323 for 187 0.303
    6 Shane Greene 25.853 for 83 0.311
    7 Max Fried 61.327 for 199 0.311
    8 Julio Teheran 55.185 for 178 0.314
    9 Mike Soroka 66.351 for 195 0.340
    10 Josh Tomlin 24.224 for 70 0.351
    11 Anthony Swarzak 22.172 for 62 0.358
    12 Sean Newcomb 28.071 for 72 0.390

Jackson is still the best BP arm on the team. The Braves still need a LHP in the BP, just like they did 2 months ago.

It is pretty clear that Jackson, Martin, Green and Melancon should pitch innings 6-9 in any close game in the playoffs.

After those 4 there is a significant falloff in the quality of the relievers. This implies Snit should make use of starting pitchers available on any given day. Not just the fifth guy but also some of the others who will be making starts in the playoffs.

Also the starters should be rested during the Royals and Mets series. This could mean not pitching at all or going just 1 or 2 innings to stay sharp. Especially Fried and Soroka.

Agree with above - Mike and Max should throw 40 - 50 pitches max per start - after skipping a start.
Let’s give Anderson the coffee cup - hopefully Thursday/ Friday after we party in Suntrust -
(And off topic, but Neck and Josh and Freddie and RAJ and Ozzie and Mac need to be in bubble wrap)
