Great win today, good to see Harang keep it going and Gattis with another big hit to win it. I was hoping to see the Angels hold on vs the Nats but not surprised their closer blew the 4-1 9th inning lead. Frieri is one of the worst closers in the game, IMO.

BTW, I see Wood's next start in Miami is against Fernandez again. Wood cannot catch a break so far this year. That kid Fernandez is even tougher at home too. He may even still be undefeated at home? He was the last I heard.

Angels have such a huge payroll and can't afford a closer. I guess Artie does have a limit.

I think Wood is up for it again. You just can't knock this kid down. He just comes right back up.

Guy Freiri isnt that bad, when he locates.

    But yeah, lucky Nats.

Regards to Wood, yeah, he'll have to pitch close to a perfect game to beat Fernandez next Tuesday? Fernandez is close to untouchable at home.

He's had a couple ND's at home but hasnt lost, i wouldnt think that changes.

One last post before I go to the gym.... I think this day off will help Heyward out big time. I'm thinking he shows up in a big manner with some XBH this weekend.

Seems like he was pressing a bit. Freddie I'm not sure about, he's just in one of his funks.

I have insomnia. And I prefer going at 10:30-11pm. I've just been a little lazy and lethargic the last few hours on here. At the time I usually go late at night, there's hardly ever anybody there, which means nobody is going to try and socialize with me during my workout or I don't have to share or rotate with other people on equipment.

If I had money, I'd turn my shed/storage garage in the backyard into a full sized gym.

Dude Heyward is 8 for his last 22 = .363 He has raised his batting average up to .198 from .136. That is .62 points in 5 days. So a day off may not be what he needs at this point.

Well it's actually easier for your batting average to go up at this point in the season when it's that low, than to keep plunging.

Heyward may have raised his batting average but he hasn't ripped the ball consistently.

I'm extra hard on Heyward because I think we all know his potential and what he's capable of. When he's hot, he's probably the funnest player to watch hit on this team and that includes Freeman because of Heyward's speed and base running being able to turn a double into a triple and single into double. His potential is more than just these singles.

Freddie's now admitting he's got some eye issues, something got him in New York. Disapointing, thought they had that figured out. Story, of course, says he'll be fine with a day off.

Story is they wanted one more rehab start because he hadn't exceeded 80 pitches. He's supposed to throw 100 this time. Also worked better as far as the other guys and the off days we have, didn't want them to have too many days off between starts.

It's sad for me because I'm heading to the Ted on Saturday and I'll be getting Hale (whom I don't hate or anything) but I'll be missing my favorite pitcher in Minor! That being said, the team is 14-7 and the pitching has been amazing, no need to rush him back at all. Give him another start, let him get his pitches up and bring him when he's ready!

I'm fine with one more rehab start from Minor, but don't see why we're not skipping Hale.

Just go with JT Saturday, and Wood on Sunday.

There is absolutely no rush what is possibly or best starting pitcher(which is scary) when the staff has been so good thus far.

It is a long season. Using Hale gives everyone an extra day between starts. I am not opposed.
