So Soroka did his work with basically two pitches tonight...he didn't have a slider at all...hope it's a better pitch than he showed tonight.

If he can control that, that is unfair to hitters.

As the great Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn named his pitches in Major League, I would call that the "Devastator"

Ooooppps-- my bad, you are correct.

A win behind Newk onm Wed makes a 4 game win streak and propels the Braves into 1st place in NL East.

Braves have re-signed Bourlos to a MiLB contract. Wish that had been Lane instead.

The 2015 draft was brilliant. I liked it from the start.

The results have obviously been very good. But I also liked the "template" they used, which I wish they had followed in subsequent drafts.

Folks hated the Soroka pick ironically.

Yes it was. I just went and looked at it.

    Allard with the 14th pick
Soroka with the 28th pick (Ervin Sananta declining QO and signing with Twins)
Riley with the 41st pick (trade with Padres, the Kimbrel trade)
    Minter in the 2nd round
    Weigel in the 7th

I looked at Wikipedia for the above info.

And of course the trade for Swanson who was the #1 pick by D-Back..

I was one of them. Of course I had no knowledge of what he offered. Just read the little scouting blurb a site had for him. I wasn't impressed. Glad I was way wrong.
