If you want to make the argument that it'd be prudent to lean toward high schoolers that are a little further away since we can stand to replenish the lower levels, it's not exactly bad news. Carroll ranks as their #2 HS hitter, #1 HS strike zone judgement, and #1 HS defensive OF. Jack Leiter ranks #2 on their HS breaking ball list, #3 on their HS changeup list, and #1 on their HS control list. Allan was #3 on their HS fastball list and #1 on their HS breaking ball list, and the scout's take they posted says "Guys who can throw a good curveball, they have feel and wrist flexibility ... He might have two 70-grade pitches with the fastball and curveball."
Based on FG's board, grabbing Carroll for a little under slot and trying to float Allan (or Leiter) to #21 might really not be such a bad idea.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Still not really sure why we haven't been connected to him much. I think Baseball America connected us to Carroll in their first mock and said we were all over him, but there hasn't been anything since then. The only thing I can think of is that Kiley mentioned Carroll as a guy who was asking for a good amount of money, so maybe that's it? Not totally sure. I'd be plenty happy with him at 9.
But can we handle 4 years of thethe hyping him as the next big thing. These things have to be considered when making choices like this.
