Just as excited if not more about most of those guys. Just further away. I think my point was with the guys close flashing their potential, 2017/2018 is not looking as bad as the Debbie downers make it out. In fact could be pretty darn solid

Agreed on the Wisler comp... Just worry more about him pitching deep into games a durability. The ability is obviously there. Why I think he could end up in the pen. Hope it proves me wrong

Even with his solid stats last year he always made me nervous as well

Although, he would be the only starter who is a lefty.. I think he ends up in the pen this year.. (innings watch).. right now, it will be hard to deny Perez a spot on the rotation..

Hope Perez builds some real solid value and we can trade him at deadline

I think we are saying the same thing here. We hang on every word and try to figure out what it means.... mostly, nothing at all.

Ace, Teheran, Newcomb, Wisler, Blair. Yes sir.
Are we starting the "sign a FA Ace" talk again already?

I hope some day the posters around here learn the Braves won't be signing any Ace, ever. Until then, keep beating that dead horse.

I disagree they won't. They won't until it makes sense. Like a year when they're sure they are pretty much arrived in starting mature talent.

There just hasn't been a point in the last couple yearsh

I mean they did bring Lester in... There was never a real chance obviously but they wouldn't just fly someone down for an interview if they weren't serious. If we were closer to competing I have no doubt there would have been a competitive offer. Our guys aren't stupid. They know how important a dominate 1-2 punch is. If Teheran does turn the corner, another Ace plus our young powerful offense would be huge. Not to mention we should have tons of money.

I am literally saving my last pick for him. I know he isn't going to see all the save opportunities right away...but probably cannot lose with him as the last pick.

I agree, I didn't like re-signing him as at best he'll be okay or so-so but won't bring back anything much in a trade due to failing too often in recent years. A contender is not going to give up much for someone with that track record. So IMO that money could've been better spent on another veteran reliever that could become a better trade chip.

That said, John Hart is one of Jim Johnson's biggest fans so that might be why we brought him back.
